Our Wedding

It was a sweet tooth and an even sweeter dog that brought Jeremy and me together.On November 19th, 2020, we both happened to end up in the checkout line at our local Wawa, just down the street from the university we attended. It was a busy Thursday night. I had stopped in after work, craving gummy bears for a late-night snack, and Jeremy was picking up energy drinks to get him through exam week.The checkout line was so long it wrapped around the inside of the store. While waiting, I glanced behind me—and there he was: the most precious dog, sitting patiently and clearly begging for attention. There was no way I could leave without petting him. When I looked up to see who he belonged to, I saw his owner: Jeremy, who was as cute as his dog too.I asked if I could pet his dog, and he happily said yes, telling me his name was Buddy. As I reached down, Jeremy stopped me with a serious warning: that Buddy might attack me… but with kisses. We both laughed, and I went ahead and gave Buddy all the pets he wanted.From there, Jeremy and I started talking while the line crept forward. We realized we were both students at the University of Central Florida, and the conversation flowed so effortlessly that the long wait suddenly didn’t feel long at all.When we finally reached the register, I tried to time my checkout so we could walk out at the same time and keep talking. Right before we left the store, Jeremy asked for my number, and we exchanged contacts. We ended up texting that very night and made plans for our first date the following weekend at UCF and Cold Stone Creamery.And that’s how Buddy, gummy bears, energy drinks, and two college students found each other at the Wawa checkout line.

After our first date in November of 2020, something truly special began. A wonderful relationship — and an even more beautiful friendship — blossomed from that day forward. We went on countless adventures, learned and grew together, and quickly became inseparable as the years passed.On December 6th, 2024, during our trip to New York City, Jeremy got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I said yes, without hesitation. Now we are so blessed and excited to be tying the knot on April 4th, 2026 — forever.
