Q + A

When and where is the wedding?

The wedding celebration will take place on May 31, 2025, at 13:00 (1 pm) at Mannskapsmessa, Odderøya 90, 4610, Kristiansand, Norway, We can't wait to celebrate with you!

How do I RSVP?

Please RSVP by March 1st through our wedding website so we can have an accurate headcount. Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions or special requests.

Gifts & Presents

Given our cozy living space and our current needs, we would greatly appreciate cash gifts instead of physical presents. This will help us create lasting memories and embark on new adventures together. Our Norwegian account number is: 9900.24.62520. You can also use Vipps for Norwegians. My number is: 92978549. We are incredibly grateful for your love and support. Thank you for your generosity and for making our wedding day even more special by being with us.

Can I bring my children?

Upon closer investigation, due to the large number of children, we unfortunately will only be able to include children in special circumstances. We are truly sorry about this and hope you understand. That said, we really want you to celebrate with us. If your children are preventing you from coming, please contact us immediately so that we can register them and have them on the list (spots are limited).

What should I wear to the wedding?

The dress code is formal, think summer dresses and suits or bunads (traditional Norwegian costume)

Will there be food and drinks at the wedding?

Absolutely! Following the ceremony, there will be some refreshments. Then from 16:30 (4:30) we will have a delicious selection of food and drinks to enjoy throughout the celebration. Note: We’ll have picture taking with all following the ceremony.

What can we do between the ceremony and the main meal?

Talk with other guests. Otherwise Odderøya has several historical sights, so if you like exploring, bring some extra shoes and explore some of the left behind German bunkers from the 1940-45 occupation of Norway. There is also a small light house down on the Southern side about 300 meters down by the ocean. The island has a very interesting military history with remnants of old ramparts, the gunpowder store, an old isolation hospital and other buildings from the 18th century onwards. Odderøya was also used as a quarantine harbour in the 1830’s and was the largest quarantine station in Northern Europe. It is possible to walk around the island on foot paths, but it will take about 4 hours, so you won’t have time for that before the celebration meal.

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

Yes! We would love for you to take photos and videos!

Where should I park?

There are about 20 parking places, but the area is also popular for tourists. NOTE: Parking is NOT free except for a couple of places just beside the Mannskapsmessa (likely for staff). Make sure to pay with an app or at the terminal in the middle of the hill. Seemingly the parking lot is governed by Parkopedia. You may find the app on Google play or Apple.

What is the accommodation situation?

There are several hotels, camping grounds and Airbnb options nearby where you can book your stay.

Do you have any recommendations for things to do in the area?

Yes! Kristiansand is full of wonderful attractions. We recommend visiting Dyreparken (Kristiansand Zoo), Fiskebrygga (The Fishmarket), and Aquarma Swimming Pool. Enjoy exploring the area!

Will there be transportation provided?

No, we’re sorry, but there are busses going to downtown Kristiansand, and you can either walk from there, take a Taxi to the venue or rent a scooter via an app. Note: If you decide to walk, it will take at least 30 minutes from the Bus terminal/train station, and it is basically uphill.
