Honestly, we could not tell you the first time we met, but we can tell you about the first time we became friends. It was back in the summer before 11th grade, he saw a picture of me on social media and thought I was cute. Later, he told me he knew he just had to talk to me which led him to message me. He started the conversation by asking if I had honors English, and wondered if I could help writing his summer reading essay (also known as he really wanted me to do it for him). In reality we hit it off from the beginning, but casual summer reading conversations and small talk turned into deep, meaningful midnight conversations. Once school started back, we did not have any classes together so we drifted apart.


2 years later, we were reunited. He had been home on Christmas leave from the Army, and we decided to catch back up. Little did we know from that moment it gave us both a best friend. We were best friends for almost a year before one of my close friends pointed out I had been catching feelings for him. At first, I denied it and kept denying it for a while until one day a midnight conversation arose and my true feelings came out.


At first, he did not know what to say or how to feel. He denied the fact too, but we soon would spend numerous nights discussing if this would be the right path for us. He was 6 hours away in Georgia which made us both very hesitant. One day, out of the blue, we both decided to just go for it and see what would happen. We did promise one another though if it did not work we would stay best friends. So far its all worked out, or else I wouldn't be writing this story on our wedding page ;)


July 6, 2020, Zachary asked me to be his wife, well actually he said, I don't know what to say, will you marry me? But he was in the middle of bush-hogging the pasture, and he broke a part off the tractor. Then came to fuss to me and get something to drink because it was hot that day, no shade was anywhere near. He then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him and after I said yes, we started to plan our life from there. And we cannot wait for ya'll to join us on our journey of a new life together!
