MEETING

In the fall of 2020, Sydney and Eric started college at North Dakota State University in Fargo, ND, Sydney majoring in Radiologic Sciences, Eric majoring in Construction Management.

Before classes even started, they went to the pool, separately, with friends. Sydney found out when she got there that they went to meet some guys her friends had previously met.

After Eric’s friends all left, he decided to stay behind to get Sydney‘s number. Even though Eric wore glasses while swimming, Sydney was optimistic about their future relationship!

DATING

After several months of talking, Eric asked Sydney to be his girlfriend during the Andersons’ company Christmas party—right as they were heading out to pick up the food.

In 2022, Sydney moved to Sioux Falls, SD, for an internship, beginning a two-year long-distance chapter in their relationship. Eric graduated from NDSU in 2023 and moved to Omaha, NE. Then, in 2024, Sydney graduated and joined him in Omaha, finally ending the distance.

On January 31, 2025, Sydney finally convinced Eric to get a puppy. Marshall, their mini Bernedoodle, has kept them on their toes ever since!

ENGAGED

While visiting Stillwater, MN, Sydney's hometown, Eric brought her to a park overlooking the river and downtown. There, he had a backdrop setup along a fence to propose.

At the same time there was a 3-year old birthday party with Rapunzel singing to little girls. This made perfect background music (along with a laugh) as Eric asked Sydney to marry him!

Sydney was then surprised with their families and treated to a lunch at the same place where Eric asked her to be his girlfriend!

MARRIED

Sydney and Eric look forward to their wedding day and a beautiful marriage to follow!
