Sydney and Matthew meet at Carter Middle School band, alto saxophone section. They were really close friends, and ran in the same friend group throughout middle school.

Matthew invites Sydney to his house for NYE, 2017, at the beginning of their freshman year of college. Matt was living in Detroit and attending Wayne State University, and Sydney in Ann Arbor at the University of Michigan. They started exploring Ann Arbor and Detroit together.

They officially start dating in March of 2017. Matt is driving over to Ann Arbor and Sydney is taking the bus to Detroit every chance they get.

Just beginning their relationship, they spent a lot of time learning more about one another, and spending time with family.

They start out sophomore year long distance, and Matt's coming out to AA for game days, and Sydney took the bus over to Detroit.

Sophomore year consisted of football, frat parties, and lots of commuting around.

They spent their 1st anniversary in the place where they re-connected one year prior.

For their Junior Year Spring Break, they booked a last minute long weekend to (their future home), Chicago. Staying at the Warwick Allerton, they spent all their time at Stan's Donuts, walking the city, and eating all the pizza they could.

For their 3 years, they flew off to NYC to spend NYE in Time's Square. The hike started off at 10:00am, and for the next 14 hours they stood, waited, and starved- all to watch the ball drop on a television in Time's Square. For more info on this event, please reach out. Their first time out of the house since March of 2020, thanks COVID. Over the 2020 season, they graduated at home, spent a lot of time watching movies and tv shows.

Moved home from their colleges home following COVID, they spent a lot of time being with family and friends back in Michigan.

Spent their 4th anniversary at home, watching the ball drop and remembering that one year ago they had been celebrating while squished between hundred's of thousands of people in NYC.

They started considering moving out of the burbs of Detroit, and brainstorming different locations. They finally "vacationed" in Chicago for one entire month, and fell in LOVE.

With the help from their family, they moved into their first apartment in their new city. Unit 707.

Just days after moving, they celebrated their 6th anniversary in their new apartment in Chicago.

Spent the entire year making new friends, making a new home, and exploring a new city.

2024 has been spent booking wedding venue, photographer, catering, and even more. They've spent even more time exploring the city, and making new memories.
