Britten and Sydney met in high school! Most specifically at the EFY LDS Church camp, they were in the same "company". That was in June 2018. During that week they found out they went to the same school and were both in band. Britten made sure to get a picture with just him and Sydney at the end of the week.

When the school year started, Britten reached out to Sydney to ask her on a date. This date technically never happened, but it opened the door for them to talk more...a lot more. Endless texting and talking from then on.

They became "official" on October 20th, 2018 after the classic high school "what are we" conversation two days after they held hands for the first time and confessed their feelings the day before. Throughout the rest of Junior and Senior year of high school, they did pretty much everything they could together.

They spent Freshman year of college together at USU, then Britten left on his LDS Mission to Los Angeles, California in July of 2021. Sydney waited, mostly impatiently, for him to return. That day came in July of 2023. Britten moved back to Logan to attend USU in Logan, and Sydney had gotten her first job after graduating from USU in June of 2023.

They spent the next year together until eventually Britten proposed on December 26th, 2024!
