Alex and Sydney met in the Spring of 2016 at UC Santa Barbara. Alex was working at the Rec Center on campus and Sydney had just come back from her first trip snowboarding and had the worst goggle burn. As we all know, Alex is an avid boarder so his interest was peaked.

They ended up both attending UC Davis after graduation and began dating. After receiving their teaching credentials and Masters they both found jobs in different school districts.

After a year of living apart, they moved into an apartment together in Folsom in July 2019. Just 10 short months later they decided it was time to makes thing more permanent, leaving their apartment behind and purchasing a house together in May of 2020.

December 25th of 2020, to Sydney's surprise, Alex proposed. Most of their time is preoccupied with work, wedding planning, and endless home improvement projects.
