"But wait! Aren't you already married?!"

Nothing gets by you! Yes, we eloped on August 14th, 2023, in San Diego. We planned our elopement knowing all along that we would host Indiana and Ohio celebrations, so that we could celebrate with our families and closest friends. Now, here we are, and we cannot wait to celebrate with all of you.

A bit about us:

We met in Northern Indiana in 2018. It’s debated when we first “came to know each other” but we celebrate our relationship as beginning on October 21 of that year. After a short time of dating we both promptly moved to new and different cities, Sydney to Atlanta to begin her nursing career and Drew to Harrisonburg to begin his pursuit of a Masters in Counseling. Over the next 3 years we flexed our long distance muscles with many 8 hour drives back and forth to each other, lots of phone calls and Facetimes, and frankly a lot of effort to be present in each other’s lives when physically far apart. We adopted a beautiful baby boy with four legs and lots of fur and made our best efforts to co-parent. Not ones to back down from a challenge, we then decided that the distance between us wasn’t pushing us enough, so Sydney moved to San Diego to begin travel nursing in January of 2022.

After finally earning his degree as a Master, Drew happily joined Sydney in San Diego in June and we enjoyed the sun and surf for the next 6 months together. In a somewhat questionable decision, we then traded our paradise for a move to Pittsburgh, PA in the middle of winter, but not without reason. Sydney was proudly accepted into the University of Pittsburgh's Nurse Anesthesia program and began her 3 year journey in January of 2023.

So this is where you find us. Sydney is in the second year of her program and Drew is working in Behavioral Health in an Emergency Department just outside of the city. We have happily adopted our second fur baby and spend most days trying to navigate our energetic cats and our many tasks between school, work, and our home. It’s true that we are in fact already married and did so in a small ceremony in San Diego overlooking the Pacific in August, but we are excited to celebrate this new adventure with the people we love and look forward to the days ahead where we get to do just that.
