Jacob and I met way back in 2015 when we were both sophomores in college at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). Jake was in IUP’s nursing program with one of my best friends and roommates, which is eventually how we were introduced to each other. We started dating December of that year and have been together ever since. After graduation, Jake decided to leave his hometown of Indiana, PA, and move back to Philly with me to start our lives together. Jake started his nursing career and I decided to go back to nursing school. Now that we’re both working as nurses, our lives have settled down a bit. We added Wyatt, our rambunctious black lab, to the family in 2020. In 2022, we moved from a tiny apartment to a townhouse, where Jake would eventually propose on January 19, 2023. It was a random, rainy Thursday afternoon when Jake decided to take me to a nice lunch at a local Italian restaurant. Little did I know he had four of my best friends back at our house decorating for his surprise proposal. When we got home from lunch, I opened the door to roses, candles, pictures of us, and a giant sign that read, “will you marry me?” After I tearfully said yes, Jake drove me to my aunt’s house to share the exciting news. As I opened the door, her house was filled with friends and family! We can’t describe how wonderful it was to be able to celebrate with people we love that night. Jake and I are so excited to celebrate our wedding with all of you and we can’t wait to see you!
