Brett and Sydney met as children as their parents were friends. The families went on cottage trips and spent various occasions together. Brett and Sydney’s fondness of each other grew with age and they started dating in 2010, they spent their high school years together and parted ways shortly after.

Their romance was rekindled in 2019 and soon after they knew that they wanted to spend their lives together
