It all began with a fish.

Well, really it began with two girls "liking" each other on Hinge and then hitting it off through the art of text communication. Sometimes the failure of an algorithm is just what you need in order to find true love. Sydney was new to the whole "women-dating-women" world and Amy was ready to give up on the apps. Really, they found each other at the perfect moment.

As the chats were flowing, so came the infamous photo of Jim taking a two-inch-long shit (seen above), which Amy immediately called into question. When confronted, Sydney completely gaslit Amy: "He's not shitting. It's just the reflection on the glass!"

Thankfully, Amy was intrigued by Syd's fish banter enough to see where this could go in person.

After a cancellation of the first date (allergies, right), the pair finally met at a high-class establishment known as Gebhard's Beer Culture. A short commute for both ladies, the beers were flowing (for Syd) and they left unable to stop smiling.

It was a fun start for these gals and it became more clear to both of them that they didn't want to stop doing this whole "hanging out" thing. Sydney told her parents she liked ladies by running out on them after they bought her a really nice present. Kudos to them, they were able to process and now they couldn't imagine it any other way.

Amy told her parents by inviting Sydney to Thanksgiving just a month and a half into dating. Amy hadn't full experienced the impulse of the "G-Factor" and assumed Sydney would say no. Good thing Sydney came, and cemented Schatzgiving as an annual tradition in their relationship. Exactly two years later in the same house, the two would get engaged.

The story will always be continuing as the Schatz-Gustafson ladies locked in their matrimony on June 14th, 2024 at the NYC Marriage Bureau. Now, they can't wait to officially walk down the aisle in front of all of their friends and family on September 13th, 2025.

Today, Jim is still alive, kicking, and taking more shits than ever. Amy adopted Jim as step-mom, and Jim is joined in sibglinghood by the famous Beasley, AKA @vin_beasel to her loyal IG followers. The Schatz-Gustafson Household has never experienced a dull moment, and likely never will.

As Natasha Bedingfield has said 'the rest is still unwritten'.
