Our Wedding

Sydney and I first crossed paths in August 2019 at Texas Tech University, thanks to mutual friends. It’s funny to think that, despite growing up just 15 minutes apart and attending high schools only 20 minutes away from each other, we didn’t meet until our senior year of college. Once we did, though, we quickly realized how much we had in common. From date nights to Sunday football watch parties at Paul’s house, where we’d enjoy One Guy pizza, we found ourselves spending more time together than apart. After I graduated in December 2019, I moved to Dallas while Sydney stayed in Lubbock to finish her studies. Then, in spring 2020, COVID hit. Sydney moved to Florida just before quarantine, and we began our long-distance relationship. With everything locked down, it wasn’t until August that we could see each other again. Sydney came to Austin to visit me and my family, and during that trip, we went to Whitestone Brewery with a few friends. It was there that Sydney got a job offer in Round Rock, and just like that, our long-distance days turned into us living together...with my parents...before eventually finding our first apartment. It was a time full of new experiences and unforgettable memories. A few years later, I landed a job in San Antonio, so we began long-distance again—though at least it wasn’t multiple states away this time! Even with the distance, we made it a priority to see each other almost every weekend, whether in San Antonio or Austin, knowing these visits were always worth the drive. In October 2023, Sydney took a leap of faith and applied for a job in Madison, Wisconsin. It was a bit of a stretch, since she was transitioning from patient-facing healthcare to IT, but just a few weeks later, she received an offer that we all knew she couldn’t turn down. That’s when I knew I had to act fast and propose before she left to start this exciting new chapter. Despite her best efforts to ruin the surprise, with the help of our friends and family, I managed to pull it off. It turned out to be one of the best days of our lives. Sydney officially moved to Madison in January 2024, and just a few short months later, I joined her. Now, we’re building a new chapter of our story together, and we couldn’t be more excited for what the future holds.
