We met in high school. Sydney was supposed to go to a 9th grade dance with one of Andy’s friends on the baseball team. When the team advanced in a tournament and he could no longer make it Andy told his friend to give him Sydney’s number so he could tell her not to be too mad about her date not being able to go. That was the first of many conversations and a year later it became more than a friendship. Andy asked Sydney to be his girlfriend on his 16th birthday. Weird...some would think. However, he now admits doing it for an important reason; so he would not forget the date. Sydney is thrilled to have a new anniversary date that Andy will have to remember on his own. Their first date was at Rudy's BBQ. Andy picked it and little did he know she was not going to eat a thing there due to her picky eating.
After high school ended they both went to get bachelor degrees at the University of Texas . Their love grew stronger not only with each other but between them and the city of Austin. Austin will forever hold the spot of their favorite place to be. After graduating they both wanted to pursue other degrees, unfortunately they were not in the same city as each other. They survived 2 years of long distance and eventually Sydney, reluctantly, moved back to Arlington to be with Andy. After waiting nearly 12 years Andy proposed exactly how Sydney requested, under a weeping willow tree.
