We met our freshman year in college at The University of Northern Iowa. We both lived on the third floor in Noehren Hall. We got to know each other through shared classes and dorm hall meetings.

We started dating April 14th, 2018. Adam graduated with his Bachelors Degree in Industrial Technology Teaching in December of 2021 and Sydney graduated with her Bachelors Degree in Athletic Training and Rehabilitation Studies in May of 2021. Adam accepted a job at Bondurant Farrar High School as a Industrial Technology teacher and moved to Bondurant. Sydney decided to continue her education and get a Masters Degree in Athletic Training and graduated in May of 2023. Following graduation Sydney moved to Bondurant and accepted a job as an Athletic Trainer at Norwalk High School. Adam (finally) proposed before a family Christmas in Iowa Falls along the Iowa River on December 7th, 2024.
