To the people we love, We know that a wedding out of the country is a big ask. We love you, and we'd love for you to be there if you're able. We can help with accommodations, transportation, and trip planning. If you're not able to join, we love you and we understand. If you are able to make the trip, we encourage you to make it a true vacation and explore Panama while you're here!! There's lots to do and see, and we've listed places and experiences in Explore Panama. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us, and we will help in any way we can. *Panama uses US currency, no worries on exchange. Major places accept card, but some of the more local spots and vendors may not, so bring a little spending money*

Getting There

First Leg

From your location in the US, we recommend to initially fly into Tocumen International Airport Panama (PTY), in Panama City, Panama. You might choose to explore around here before the second leg of the trip.

Second Leg

From Panama City you can choose to fly to Enrique Malek International Airport (DAV) in David, Panama on Copa Airlines (~$120, 1HR travel), or bus from Panama City, PA to David, PA (~$20, 6-7HR travel).From here you can explore areas around David like Boquete, or Bocas del Toro. There are buses that run to and from these locations as well as taxis and shuttles.If not, we can arrange for your pick up and bring you to Joey's mom's home in San Andres.**We will be able to pick you up, or have someone pick you up. We will have more exact details when we know everyone's travel schedule**

Travel tip: Tuesdays and Wednesdays tend to have cheapest flights. Booking your flight to/from David separately from your trip to and from Panama City and the US might be cheaper, if you're choosing to fly instead of bus.

Weather

March is summer/dry season in Panama, so anticipate hot and humid. Average temp is 80F-90F and humidity averages 80%. Potential for mid day rain as heat breaks. Pack accordingly! It'll be cold most places in the states, but wear a travel outfit that you can shed a layer once you make it into Panama.Bring a swimsuit!

There are tons of really nice and affordable hotel and Airbnb options for anyone who decides to explore different areas of Panama! Once you get to San Andres, we have accommodations already set aside for people to stay at. You don't have to worry about searching for your own place, but note that the bedrooms are shared! We'll give y'all earplugs. We currently have one Airbnb booked from the 18th-22nd, which is about $15 a night per person. We will potentially have a second depending on how many "yes" RSVPs we receive. The Airbnb is just down the road from Joey's moms home and has a pool ;D. We will be able to tell you more details on where we'll have you staying once we have everyone's RSVPs and when everyone is planning on arriving and departing. Panama City, Panama

Panama City is where you'll first fly into from the US, and where you'll fly back home from. You can explore here before heading to San Andres, or before you head back home.

Watch the movie, narrated by Morgan Freeman, on the history of the canal, then go see the ships pass through!!!

Hit some trails and potentially see sloths, monkeys, and toucans in a rainforest within the city

If you like shopping, this is the largest mall in Central America. Syd's favorite store in Panama was Conway, if you wanted to check it out, but they have more familiar stores like Zara too.

Boquete, Panama

Boquete is a more mountainous area with a slightly cooler climate. Potential for rain starting in March as it transitions from dry to rainy season. Good for coffee fanatics!

If you down for a VERY early morning, a potentially motion sickness inducing 4X4 off roading car ride, and a crazy great view with a picnic and coffee breakfast, this is for you. It was worth ever moment! (Only Joey got car sick ;p) The only time it was ever cold during our trip, they provide jackets, gloves, chairs, and a little blanket while you eat at the top and watch the sunrise.

HERE'S WHAT WE'RE PLANNING

- Arriving Tuesday March 17th and headed to San Andres right away to help make sure everyone's picked up when they plan on arriving. We're hanging out with everyone, and doing general pre wedding prep. - Friday March 20th rehearsal/welcome to Panama dinner, this is for everyone! Not formal but wear white or cream -Sunday the 22nd, planning for a beach day at island called Gamez, $25 for the bus and boat ride there. About an hour from Joeys moms house - Potentially leave San Andres Monday 23rd or Tuesday 24th to visit Panama City before heading home - Leaving Wednesday March 25th
