> How we met: Playing pick-up soccer at the University of Georgia with mutual friends. Our relationship first grew out of our friendship and spending quality time together.

> Our first date: Actually a date "zero" where we watched Liverpool play Chelsea at a soccer pub, The Royal Peasant, in Athens. Our real first date was dinner the next weekend at Trappeze in downtown Athens and a romantic walk around campus.

> Where we started: Syd was completing her dual degree in Sport Management at the University of Georgia and began working for UGA's athletic department. Matt was finishing his Civil Engineering degree also at UGA. We spent lots of date nights at UGA sporting events, the Georgia Theatre, and the Pineview house.

> Where we are now: Syd works at Foresite Group, a civil engineering and design firm, as Operations Coordinator. Matt works as a Transportation Engineer for the City of Johns Creek. Currently living in Brookhaven, GA and loving life with our two "cheese cats" - Queso and Mozzarella.

> Favorite things to do together: Watch a lot of sports - we are huge fans of all Atlanta sports, English soccer, and Formula 1 racing. Attend as many concerts as we can. Catch all types of movies at our local theater.

> The proposal: November 20, 2020 - After spending many months together during quarantine, we both felt ready to take the next step in our relationship. We scheduled a regular date night at one of our favorite walkable neighborhood spots. Along the way, Matt insisted we take a "more direct" route to the restaurant, which took us over a cute pedestrian bridge that we often passed on our daily walks over the summer. Matt suggested we head down to the overlook and before Syd knew what was happening, he was down on one knee, saying all sorts of sweet things, and asking her to marry him. Of course she said yes, and we celebrated the moment with a really nice dinner, just the two of us. It was the perfect night!

> The future: We can hardly wait to begin life as husband and wife and continue our love story. We are counting down the days until we can celebrate our future together with all our friends and family!
