1. Where is the wedding taking place?
Our wedding will be held at the historic Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum in Key West, Florida — a dreamy garden venue surrounded by lush greenery, rich history, and home to over 60 polydactyl (six-toed) cats!
2. What’s the dress code?
Spring Formal is the dress code. Inspiration photos can be found on the dress code tab. Be colorful - its Key West after all! Please do not wear any white or off-white garments to the wedding.
3. Are the Hemingway cats really going to be there?
Yes! The famous Hemingway cats live on the property and roam freely — they may even crash the ceremony. Please feel free to pet them, but be respectful of their space. Unfortunately you can not pick them up, but they are welcome to sit on your lap if they desire.
4. What’s the best way to get to Key West?
You can fly directly into Key West International Airport (EYW) or drive down the scenic Overseas Highway from Miami. We recommend booking travel and accommodations early, as Key West can fill up quickly!
5. Where should we stay?
There are many great options nearby, from charming B&Bs to full-service resorts. We have shared a list of recommended hotels on the Things to Do Tab.
6. Is the ceremony indoors or outdoors?
The ceremony and reception will take place outdoors in the garden. The weather in Key West is usually warm and breezy, but it’s always good to bring a light layer just in case.
7. Can I bring my kids?
We love your little ones, but this will be an adults-only celebration (minus the ones that are in the wedding party) so we can all relax, let loose, and dance the night away!
8. Will food and drinks be provided?
Absolutely! We’ll have a delicious dinner, drinks, and desserts — all with a Key West twist. Come hungry! Dinner around 7:15pm.
9. What time should we arrive?
Please plan to arrive at the venue by 5:45pm, as the ceremony will begin at 6:00pm and you won’t want to miss it.
10. What should I do while I’m in Key West?
Explore the island! From sunset sails to snorkeling, visiting the Southernmost Point, or touring more Hemingway history — there’s something for everyone. You can find a mini travel guide on the menu tab!
11. Will I get a plus one?
This is event is strictly by invitation only. We will only be accommodating those listed on the invitation. Your Save The Date will have information regarding how many seats will be reserved in your honor.
