Our Wedding

Sydney and Wes met in the summer of 2022. After the first time they hung out, they knew they had a connection. A few nights later, Sydney asked Wes to come over and she would cook dinner for him, he said yes and went over to her apartment. Sydney made pasta for him and Wes proceeded to say "the noodles are undercooked", thinking he was so funny. Still to this day Sydney will ask him every time she makes dinner if it is "under cooked". Fast forward and they start hanging out all the time and can't go long without having to see each other. They made things official on August 14th 2022. The night before they made it official, they had gotten a little bit drunk and Wes ended up asking Sydney to be his girlfriend that night, but Sydney said "you have to ask me again in the morning so that I know its not the vodka talking". So Wes did. Fast forward again over two years later and they find out, while Wes is out of town on a job, that they are expecting. Sydney is in Columbia at Mizzou with her family when she found out. Sydney immediately called Wes and told him the news. Wes still has to wait a full week before he is home and able to celebrate with Sydney. Before finding out about the baby, Wes was planning on proposing to Sydney. This didn't stop him, and he proposed on August 15th 2024. Wes proposed while they were getting their announcement pictures done for their pregnancy. In November however, Sydney went to the doctor, and they told her something was wrong with Charlotte, their baby girl, and that she needed to go be seen by the high-risk doctor. They had gone to several appointments and things were not looking too great. They ended up losing their sweet baby girl, Charlotte Layne Sandridge, at 22 weeks, on December 6th, 2024. They got to see her in the hospital, and it was the best couple of hours they could've asked for. They got to hold her and love her for just a little bit, but it meant the world to them. Through this trauma and indescribable pain, they made sure to still take care of each other and make sure they were staying a priority to one another. They think about Charlotte all day everyday but know she is up in Heaven with Papa Jerry and their loved ones who have passed. They know she is being taken care of. They know every day they make it through is a day closer to seeing her again. They live life in honor of their Charlotte Layne and Jerry Sandridge and always will.
