Saturday-

9:00 a.m. - Arrive at Fort Fisher Historic Site to help set up for the intimate ceremony. The Historic Site will reserve only 8 parking spaces for us so please ride together and arrive on time. You can find ceremony details here.

11 a.m. - Ceremony site clean up, please help clean the ceremony site, we must be out of there by 12 noon.

12:30 - Lunch at Cedric and Cindy Reiss Clark's beach cottage.

5/6 pm - Cedric and Synclair leave, you all can party without us.

Sunday-

10 :30 am - informal brunch (location TBD) so we can hang out all together as one united family before family members start to leave North Carolina

What should I expect on this weekend?

You should expect to have quality time with Cedric and Synclair, since it will be an intimate gathering. After getting ready, dressing into casual/ semi-formal clothes, we will head to Fort Fisher Historic Site, North Carolina (about 15 minutes away from Carolina Beach, NC). After the short and sweet ceremony, we will have lunch at Cedric and Cindy Reiss-Clark's beach cottage in Carolina Beach, NC (if you do not have the address please text someone for it).

Cedric and Synclair will leave to a honeymoon suite that evening but plan on returning to spend the day hanging out with you all on Sunday, November 6.

What dates should I be in North Carolina?

The ceremony will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2022. So, you should plan to arrive anytime on or before November 4, 2022.

I'm confused-- this webpage reads date to be announced and November 5, 2022. Which one is it?

Both! We will marry each other in an intimate setting in the presence of our immediate family on November 5, 2022, and we will have a wedding celebration in the summer of 2023.

Why are you having a small elopement?

When we became engaged, we began planning how we wanted our dream wedding to be and we soon realized that our vision could not realistically be planned in a few short months–-in step with Cedric’s PhD completion.

We wondered, should we hold the marriage until we can have the grand wedding celebration we are envisioning? And we decided, no. Our marriage is not just about a party. We love each other, we are ready to start our life together, and we want our relationship to honor God.

So, this was our decision: we will marry each other in an intimate setting in the presence of our immediate family on November 5, 2022, and we will have a wedding celebration in the summer of 2023.

What about grandparents?

If you can manage to bring a grandparent to the ceremony in North Carolina, they are welcome to come! Otherwise it might be easier to wait until summer 2023. Though we don’t know exactly where that will be, it will be on the west side of the US.
