Michael and I met in the summer of 2003. I had taken my car back to the auto shop that Michael worked at, because someone had damaged my vehicle. He explained to me that he wasn't the mechanic that worked on my vehicle but he would take care of it. We began to flirt with one another and he asked for my number to do a follow-up on my vehicle. I knew that wasn't the case lol, but I went along with it. A few days had passed and I received a
call from him. He asked how my vehicle was doing and also asked if he could take me out on a date as well. Michael and I became inseparable. We began a swift romantic relationship. Our relationship was everything! Unfortunately , in 2008 we both faced heartache and went our separate ways.


You know the saying " if you find your way back to each other , it was meant to be". Well, it was meant to be! in 2017, God showed up and Showed out and brought Michael and I back in each other lives. I thought I was dreaming that I had a missed call from Michael, but it was actually true. I returned his call and asked " what give me the honor of this call"? Michael told me to just listen and let him get everything off his chest to me. I honored his request and just listened. Michael asked if he could see me that night, and I agreed. Seeing each other was strange , but I still had the butterfly affect for him. Michael and I agreed to take things slow and get to know each other again. With doing so, we learned a lot about one another again. We assumed a lot as well. One thing that never died , is that our heart still remained with each other.

Michael and I became engaged!!!
I was planning my mother a surprise birthday party. I was super busy with the planning and was trying to make sure everything I needed was ordered. Michael had spoke to my cousin with his proposal plans and started to put his plans in action. The first thing he needed was my ring size, and my cousin used a unique way of getting it lol. She called me up and said ," I saw these cute rings that I want to buy for us to have a cousins day", and what was my ring size. I didn't think much about it because again I was busy planning my mother's party. As the days were leading up to her party, Michael had started acting out of character. He had started acting sneaky and mushy. He would play these songs and stare at me and ask, "how much do you love me"? He also started being sneaky on the phone. He started going outside to speak on his phone, which raised my eyebrows . I phoned my cousin to talk about the madness that was happening and all she said was " you will be ok". I had gotten passed that and was telling her how epic my mother's surprise party was going to be, and her response was " oh yeah, its going to be very epic". After the party , I learned the reason behind everything lol.
The Big Day Is here......
The day is here, and with all the planning , I was ready for it to be done and over with. I woke up with a burst of energy and excitement because I knew my mom would be totally surprised. Out of all the days , Michael decides he is not feeling good ! I told him to just load his vehicle with party items , follow me to the drop off location , and return home to lay down. He assured me he was ok , but I noticed different. He was very quiet , distant towards everyone, and that's not like him.
Let the Party Begin.....
I got my mother to the party and she was very surprised! We began partying like rock stars. It was time to get the food served. I was putting on my serving gloves and all I could hear was my cousin calling my name, saying "the food need to be blessed". I told her ok, the food was blessed , and the servings started. Michael and my cousin arrange this, that's why it was so important that I could not serve the food. Five minutes into the serving of the food , they were calling my name, my mother, sister and brother to the front of the room. Michael began to speak. His words were" momma you know I love you , but I love your daughter more, Tahijia (got down on one knee) , will you marry me? I teared up and excepted his hand in marriage. Playing , was all the music I had been hearing in my house for two weeks lol. Michael teases me to this day and tell me" I didn't cry enough"
