Our Wedding

I had no idea who this "kid" was during my freshman year. He had just moved from Canyon City. When Covid hit, we both started working at a local farmer's market. We talked. A lot and got in trouble for it. He was a coworker whom I enjoyed talking to, although most of our coworkers were LOUDLY pushing for us to be together. We ignored them. I soon left the store and found myself out of touch with him. We soon became acquaintances, only waving when seeing each other in the halls at school. Junior year, he started to do worship at my church and we found ourselves back on the same team. We picked up from where we left off... being able to talk about anything. I convinced him that he should help with VBS and that was really OUR start. We began talking constantly and he was the friend I never knew I needed. He was the one to push me and pray with me. He has always made sure that God stayed number 1. We would drive around for hours after he got off of work just talking about everything... even how I did not want to take my senior year. (Apparently, he was pining after me this whole time...lol). He had asked me to homecoming (as friends) and I agreed. Fun fact: I blackmailed him, because I told him I would only go with him if he sang lead on a song in Rock Band :) The night before homecoming was the night I admitted I had feelings for him and we finally got together. And I have been falling ever since.... especially cause he sounds like Johnny Cash. He asked me to marry him on New Years at midnight on Jan 1, 2023. I cannot wait to marry my best friend.

Tala's POV

Starting my freshman year and moving to a new town, I saw a girl in my Spanish class that caught my eye. I didn't know her name and I didn't know much about her but I wanted to know more. Freshman year passed and still never said a word to her. I learned she was a popular girl who was top of our class. We started working together at my first job and started talking a lot more. At that moment I knew I wanted to be with her, if not together, then as friends. After I quit working at that small country store, we didn't talk as much, maybe a hello now and then. I joined the worship team at my church and got placed on the same team as Tala, and the first night we played together it was like no time had passed. We were always there for each other when we needed a prayer or to come back to God. We talked every day after that and never stopped. More and more I wanted to be with her but didn't know how to say it. I invited her out to hang out so I could tell her how I felt, but she said that her senior year she didn't want to be in a relationship, so I never told her how I felt. We had a lot of the same classes in school (she even added a class just because I was in it... I think she secretly liked me back). I asked her to go to homecoming with me, but she said only if I lead a song in Rock Band. Of course, I didn't want to, but I did just for a chance she might feel the same I did. After work, she would come to see me when I got off to drive around and hang out. The night before the dance, we were driving around and she FINALLY admitted that she liked me, and from there, it only got better. I proposed on January 1st, 2023 and she said yes. Every day I fall more in love with the girl from my Spanish class, and I can't wait till I get to marry her.
