Our story began one afternoon in February, amidst the greenery of a plant shop where a girl with a love for foliage caught the eye of a tall, handsome lumberjack. As he helped her select items to nurture her plants, their hearts collided, and the world seemed to bow in reverence to their budding love. From that moment, the rest became history. Talia and Chris's initial encounter at his workplace sparked conversations that were both deep and meaningful, yet light and filled with laughter. Little did Chris know, Talia had surreptitiously provided her number to his coworker, hoping to continue their connection. And when his coworker urged him not to let the opportunity slip away, Chris seized it eagerly. Countless hours of texting and phone calls ensued, leading to their first date—a rendezvous Chris hadn't realized was a date at all. However, it was their second meeting that truly swept him off his feet, as lyrics from Leon Bridges provided the perfect backdrop to their burgeoning romance. Carlton, or as I like to call him, Junior, is more than just my brother—he’s my best man, confidant, and one of the funniest and smartest people I know. At 33, Junior's always on the go, juggling his busy work life, which makes it a rare treat when we get to catch up. Despite the distance in time and conversations, one thing remains constant: we share a sense of humor that only we truly understand. Whether it's a random joke or a playful dig, Junior's wit never misses the mark.

Growing up, Junior was the ultimate gamer, dominating titles like Call of Duty, Halo, and Rainbow Six. I’m not sure if he’s still gaming these days, but his competitive spirit and strategic mind always impressed me. Beyond gaming, he’s a self-taught guitar player, a talent that always fascinated me. Even though we don’t talk about it much now, I’ll always remember how passionate he was about music.

What really stands out about Junior, though, is his wisdom. It's not the kind of wisdom you expect from someone younger, but it’s the kind you realize over time you should’ve paid more attention to. There are so many moments when I think to myself, "I should've listened to Jr." His advice might not always come with fanfare, but it’s always spot on.

While life keeps us busy, I’m beyond grateful that Junior is standing by my side as my best man. I couldn’t ask for anyone better to support me on this incredible journey.

A cousin, a good dude, and a fellow meme enthusiast, Derrick has always known how to bring the laughs. While life keeps him busy, we make sure to catch up over Thanksgiving and Christmas, reminiscing about old times and sharing music. With a love for hip-hop and an ear for all kinds of music, Derrick even used to make rap songs as a hobby—who knows, maybe he still does! His sense of humor and laid-back vibe make him an awesome addition to the wedding crew.

Jay may prefer to stay out of the spotlight, but there’s no doubt he’s a solid guy. As the fiancé of my fiancé’s best friend, we don’t get the chance to interact often, but every time we do, it’s clear that he’s smart, down-to-earth, and has a great sense of humor. Though he tends to keep a low profile, I’m grateful to have him as part of the big day.

Meet Remington, or "Remee" as he’s known to his friends and family. At 13, he’s the cool Jr. Groomsman with a heart of gold, even if he’s a bit of an introvert—though I think he might actually be less shy than I am. While we don't hang out as much anymore, it’s always a blast when we do. Remee’s interests are as unique as he is—he’s into gaming, Jimin from BTS, and of course, the timeless anthem "Bohemian Rhapsody." He’s also a big fan of axolotls, and I bet if you asked him, he could tell you some fun facts about them. Remee’s a great kid with a lot of personality, and I’m proud to have him standing by my side on this big day.
