You are in the mountains - driving is apart of the experience. HIGHLY recommend the app called Turo. It is privately owned vehicles that you rent from a private owner. (Similar to Airbnb but for vehicles) LodgingSince there are limited hotels near our wedding location, we recommend booking a vacation home or staying at Teton Valley Resort. We encourage booking an Airbnb or VRBO for our wedding weekend, as there are so many beautiful rentals in the surrounding towns. Lodging books quickly, so securing a rental early is the best way to ensure a comfortable stay. We highly recommend Teton Valley Resort for our guests to stay for the weekend. It is a scenic mountain getaway nestled in Idaho's Teton Valley - surrounded by mountain views on all sides. Free hot breakfast is included in your stay. There is a restaurant &amp; full bar located on site, along with a pool and hot tub. There will be transportation to &amp; from the Maxwell Wedding from this location. It is 28 minutes away from the wedding venue. Jackson Hole Airport - 34 miles from this location.Idaho Falls Airport - 65 miles from this location. We picked this location because we fell in love with the view - the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will be outdoor. You will be in grass most of the time (besides the dance floor) so you can keep the heels at home for this trip! Jack will act like he does because he will ask Tamara ;) Is the wedding kid friendly?Yes - we have several children who play a very important role in our lives. Therefore, a select amount of children are invited &amp; that will reflect on your invitation/RSVP. When should we RSVP?The sooner the better! The latest, May 1st. Are gifts expected?Blunt answer - no. We understand asking our friends &amp; family to travel across the country for our wedding is a financial sacrifice. Your presence IS the present. Will we spend other days together besides the wedding? - Thursday September 17th (The Groom's 30th Birthday!) We will be having our rehearsal dinner at the house &amp; it will act as a welcome party for us to see our favorite people before the wedding day! (&amp; celebrate Jack's 30th) Pretty Casual - think food truck, chill guitarist &amp; good company! Everyone welcome but no pressure if cannot attend. - Saturday September 19th - Rodeo in Jackson Hole!For whoever wants to attend, we will be taking a shuttle bus from the air bnb to Jackson Hole around 1:00pm on Saturday the 19th to explore the area &amp; then attend The Jackson Hole Rodeo at 6pm. More info on this to come! Why are we getting married here? We knew from the start that we wanted something a little different than a traditional wedding. We were drawn out west and found a small - town location that feels like us.We’re also confident that those who are able to make the trip will fall in love with the surrounding areas just as much as we have. They call the location of our wedding "The quite side of The Tetons." Nestled right between Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park, the location offers some of the most breathtaking scenery in the country. While we wish we could explore the parks with everyone, we highly recommend extending your trip to visit one (or both!) during your stay. Why do things feel far away?Out west - and especially in the mountains - traveling a few extra miles is just part of the experience.

Dry Ridge Outfitters

- Grand Teton National Park has 4 main entrances. If traveling from near wedding venue, Moose Entrance is the most logical. Taggart Lake is the hike you want to do if hiking is your thing. 3.8 mile hike - easy flat trail. This entrance is an hour and 5 minutes minutes from the wedding venue. If you fly into the Jackson Hole airport, you fly into Grant Teton National Park.

Grand Teton National Park - Moose Entrance 

- A beautiful drive &amp; entrance to Yellowstone National Park. Prime access to the parks famous geyser basin's, including Old Faithful &amp; Grand Prismatic Spring (Yellowstone's largest hot spring) This entrance is an hour and 22 minutes from wedding venue.

Yellowstone National Park - West Entrance

- If seeing wildlife is high on your priority list - I HIGHLY recommend!

National Elk Refuge

- a famous hot springs park located in Jackson. Tickets are sold on site &amp; are $12 per person. It is a beautiful rural drive up to the springs.

Granite Hot Springs & Camp

- a route through Idaho's Teton Valley, showcasing Mesa Waterfall, The Snake River &amp; Targhee National Forest. 7 minutes from the wedding venue.

Teton Scenic Byway

- Center of Jackson Hole - Famous antler arch &amp; Cowboy bar located here. Look up Jackson Hole and both are two of the first things you see. Touristy area - cutie place to walk around, eat, shop, etc.

Jackson Town Square

- a family owned famous brewery - 16 minutes from the wedding venue.

another local recommendation for horse back riding through The Teton's. Highly recommend!

The Evolution of Tam & Jack

It all started in 2012 at a local restaurant called Capps, where Tamara was bussing tables. She spotted Jack sitting at one she was supposed to greet, only to realize another server was already chatting with him - because, of course, she knew him. Tamara immediately turned to her and said “Jack Maxwell! I think that kid is SO cute!” Before she knew it, the server had convinced an awkward Jack to leave his phone number on a napkin - and he did! Tamara already knew of Jack and his family because their dads were friends. Supposedly, she had gone trick-or-treating at his house as a kid — though she barely remembers, since she was laser-focused on the candy she was about to take home. (Also - of course) Their first date was at The Great Geauga County Fair that same summer. From that day on, they were always drawn to each other in one way or another. Life took them in different directions after high school — Tamara went to college out of state to explore new things, while Jack stayed home &amp; opened a business. But their connection remained a constant. Tamara claimed Jack as her “best friend from back home" for upwards of 5 years. Through perseverance, A LOT of laughter &amp; some maturing on both sides - it was destined to be more. After college, Tamara moved back to Ohio &amp; during the covid summer - days at the boat dock to nights in the barn transformed “best friends from back home” into best friends in love. Moving in together felt intimidating, but because their relationship was built on friendship, it quickly felt natural. They found an apartment in Willoughby, and it didn’t take long to realize - it wasn’t the apartment that felt like home. It was each other. Over the past five years, their relationship has grown from a young, carefree, "same idea of fun" kind of love into a Christ-centered partnership rooted in faith, friendship, and genuine love for each other’s souls. They’re now ready to take on the beautiful covenant of marriage. After the wedding, they look forward to, God willing, moving into their first home together in Thompson, Ohio with their dog Wrangler. Tamara and Jack cannot wait to share their wedding weekend with the people they love most!

Our Story

With this being a destination wedding, we’ve chosen not to have a formal wedding party. To us, everyone making the trip to celebrate with us, is already part of the group we cherish most. You're all our wedding party.
