Q & A

What should I wear? Is there a dresscode?

The dresscode for our wedding is Black-Tie Optional. Black-Tie Optional means that you have the option to dress in formal black-tie attire, but it is not mandatory. It's a flexible dress code that allows guests to choose between traditional black-tie attire or elegant formal wear. For men, this typically includes a suit, and/ or a bow tie/ necktie. For women, it usually means wearing a formal evening gown, a cocktail dress, or a chic pantsuit. Ultimately, the choice is yours, and you can decide how formal you'd like to dress, but dressing more formally is always welcomed and appropriate.

Where are the ceremony and the reception taking place?

The ceremony and reception are going to take place at the Private House Venue of Island Art & Taste. We are looking forward to celebrate our wedding with you at this stunning indoor-outdoor design overlooking the water on the Athens coastline and to dance until the sun rises on the horizon.

What is meant by "Picking up the bride"?

Picking up the bride is a cherished Serbian tradition that symbolizes the union of two families. The groom, accompanied by his closest family, and best man, visits the bride's house amidst joyous celebrations with musicians. The tradition of 'buying the bride': In the past, it was customary for the groom's brother to negotiate with the bride's brother. Once an agreement on the 'price' was reached, the bride would step out of her parents' house, prepared for marriage. Today, this tradition has evolved into a playful exchange between the groom's and bride's brothers. Typically, the groom's party brings candy or fake money. If the bride's side is not satisfied, they might humorously present a man or another woman veiled as the bride, leading to laughter all around. When the real bride finally emerges, it's an emotional moment for her, the groom, and their parents.

Are there parking facilities at the wedding venue?

There are ample parking spaces available free of charge directly across the street from the wedding venue entrance for all guests. If you prefer not to drive after the wedding, you are welcome to leave your vehicle overnight. Taxis can be arranged to safely transport you to your accommodations, and you can retrieve your car from the parking lot the next day. If you choose to park directly at the venue, please be aware that there is a €10 fee.
