Our Wedding

It started with a “no” and ended with a “YES!”Tammy:&nbsp; I became interested in Walker mainly because of his consistent persistence.&nbsp; As I got to know him on a personal level, I found him to be a true gentleman – respectful, caring, considerate and patient. At first, he seemed to be very serious and a little up tight; &nbsp;but as I got to know him, he is gentle, funny, and very romantic.

 

 Walker:&nbsp; When I first met Tammy, I didn't know what it was about her that I found intriguing. While I watched how she worked in her community and how she related&nbsp;to her friends and family, I found that she was all in, committed to her family and friends. At a stage in my life, I didn't believe that I would have another opportunity to fall in love. I was very closed minded. &nbsp;I can tell you now that I was mistaken. Tammy is the most caring, loving, deliberate and authentic person I know.





Tammy:&nbsp; I originally met Keith, “Walker” as I affectionately call him, through his business dealings with my boss, Rob Campbell.&nbsp; Several years prior to Keith asking me out, a team of our staff members went to a groundbreaking at one of Walker's properties, when a friend of mine told me that he had his eye on me. I said, “girl, I'm not thinking about him or anybody else.” &nbsp;She said, I’m just saying, “he’s watching you”.&nbsp; It was maybe 2 years later when he asked me out for lunch in which I declined.&nbsp; In an anxious, puzzled voice, he said “no? do you know who I am?” Slightly irritated and perplexed by his response, I replied, “do you know who I am?” He later told me that when I said “no”, he pulled off the road, amazed that I had turned him down.&nbsp; It was his consistence and persistence that attracted me; he called me every day for 9 months.&nbsp; It was through those conversations we began to get to know one another.&nbsp;



Keith:&nbsp; Tammy always carried herself in such a positive, professional way. Each time I saw her, I thought she was a very attractive woman. I, through a friend, inquired about her for about a year before I actually asked her out.&nbsp; It was definitely worth the wait. When you’ve been single for as long as I have, you almost don't know how to pursue someone.&nbsp; Each time I talked to her, I was trying to do my best to actually get her attention, hoping that she would not forget about me or look over me.&nbsp; 

 

 Tammy:&nbsp; When he first asked me out, my divorce was not finalized, therefore, in good conscience and moral values, I could not date.&nbsp; The one thing&nbsp;that kept my attention was I never told him when I was actually getting a divorce; and he never asked me when; which was very telling of his true intentions.

 





Keith: &nbsp;I didn’t know if it was fair for me to ask.&nbsp; After a year of separation, my divorce was immediate.&nbsp; At the time I pursued her, I had been single for about eight years.&nbsp; So, with her, I didn't want to imply that she was dragging her feet to divorce; understanding &nbsp;&nbsp;everyone has their own reasoning and timing.&nbsp; After making many missteps, I knew I had to do something to get her interest; knowing that other people were vying for her attention. So, during that time of waiting, I took the opportunity to get to know her. It was then I really began to see the person she is; it made me want to know her even more.&nbsp; I found her to be caring, compassionate, forward yet genuine, to say a few. &nbsp;My patience to pursue this lovely woman has assuredly been a virtue. 

 



Tammy:&nbsp; That is one of the things that I appreciate about him. He is so very patient.&nbsp; He takes his time, calculates everything and makes good decisions. Walker is very smart – I tell him he has a ‘beautiful mind’.&nbsp; He is a real gentleman - sensitive, intuitive, caring, respectful, generous and so much more. &nbsp;He has a great sense of humor; he makes me laugh all the time.

 

 Keith:&nbsp; We have dealt with many challenges, but we seem to soar through them.&nbsp; I think the advantage is we are at a mature age.&nbsp; We are intentional to openly talk about everything – even those things that are uncomfortable.&nbsp; We are definite overcomers – through the good times & bad times, we made the decision to be committed and love one another unconditionally.

 

 Tammy:&nbsp; It was October 31st, we were traveling to DC on a train when we mutually agreed that we wanted to be married to one another.&nbsp;However, it was actually November&nbsp;30th at the Beaufort Grocery Restaurant did he actually make the engagement official and presented me with a magnanimous diamond ring. &nbsp;It was more than I expected.&nbsp; Surprisingly, I was very emotional.&nbsp; My heart was pounding - it was a moment of joy, excitement and anticipation; not having all the answers but knowing that we both were entering this relationship with love and commitment first to God and to each other.

 

 Keith: I am proud and honored that she said “YES!”

 





Keith & Tammy: Love is when you give of your whole self to another person; recognizing that neither are perfect, but we are willing to respect and accept our differences. &nbsp;We are happy to have found one another and are happy to find love again. &nbsp;

 





Together&nbsp;we are blessed with 5 beautiful ‘daughters of love’ which we lovingly call, our (DOLs). Keisha – 31, Monique - 26, Kelli - 24, Ena - 23, Aiveen -19,&nbsp;and a grandson Sage - 4. We are so proud of each of them. They are happy for our new lives together and are open to our new blended family; for that we are grateful.&nbsp;

 

 We are truly thankful to our family and friends who continue to support and encourage us. We are most grateful to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for allowing our paths to cross and our hearts to connect.

Our Story

Thank each one of you for supporting us during our engagement.&nbsp; However, due to our nation's current situation, we feel the best decision,&nbsp;for now, is to&nbsp;postpone the WYNN/WALKER wedding.&nbsp;&nbsp;

We plan to reconvene our wedding festivities some time in the very near future.&nbsp; &nbsp;We will keep you posted.Let's continue to keep our world lifted in prayer and be safe.&nbsp;

Stacey is Keith's younger brother.&nbsp; He lives in&nbsp;Charlotte, NC&nbsp; with his wife Monica and daughter, Nicole.&nbsp; Stacey, funny and witty,&nbsp;is definitely the life of every party.

Harkeem is a friend of Keith &&nbsp;Tammy.&nbsp; Harkeem lives with Wilmington with his wife Sharm and family.&nbsp; He is the owner and operator of Roadway Construction Solutions in Wilmington, NC.&nbsp;&nbsp; Harkeem&nbsp;has been Keith's personal cheerleader through their dating process.

Keisha, 30,&nbsp; a&nbsp;&nbsp;UNC- Wilmington graduate.&nbsp; Keisha currently works as&nbsp;an&nbsp;IT Professional&nbsp;and &nbsp;Success Coach of NOW&nbsp;Momentum, LLC. .&nbsp; Keisha&nbsp;resides in Charlotte&nbsp;with her two puppies, Mikey &&nbsp;Cocoa.

Kelli, 24, is a graduate of Wesleyan College.&nbsp; Kelli currently&nbsp;works as a Resident Coordinator at Salem College in Winston Salem and is pursuing her Master's Degree at Purdue University.

Ena, 24, is Keith's oldest daughter who is&nbsp;a&nbsp;graduate of UNC-Charlotte with a Bachelor's degree.&nbsp; In May, Ena will&nbsp;be graduating with her Master's Degree from the&nbsp;University of Georgia.

Aiveen,19, is Keith's youngest daughter who is&nbsp;currently attending UNC-Charlotte where she is pursing her degree in Political Science.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Sheryl is Tammy's older sister who lives is Douglasville, GA.&nbsp; Dr. Sheryl is a Licensed Professional Counselor and is the owner and educator of StraightTalk, LLC.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Lora, Tammy's younger sister, resides in Hertford, NC with her husband, Archie.&nbsp; Lora is retired for the US&nbsp;Air Force and works as&nbsp; a Program Manager.&nbsp; She has a&nbsp;Bachelors degree in Business and pursing her Master's degree in Counseling.

Michelle&nbsp; is a licensed realtor and entrepreneur who&nbsp;resides in Mansfield, TX with her husband, Marlin and their 2 children.&nbsp; Michelle is&nbsp;one of Tammy's best friends.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Monique, 26, is Tammy's middle daughter who resides in Raleigh, NC.&nbsp; She is the proud mother of Sage, age 4.&nbsp; Monique works in the medical and insurance field.&nbsp; She is also a beauty consultant specializing in hair care.&nbsp; She is driven in&nbsp;building a healthy life for herself and her son.

Archie, Tammy's brother-in-law, lives is Hertford, NC along with his wife, Lora.&nbsp; Archie is retired from the US Air Force and currently works&nbsp;as a Veterans Service officer at&nbsp;the Veterans Administration.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Keith is Tammy's oldest brother.&nbsp; He resides in Goldsboro, NC along with his wife, Rita.&nbsp; Keith is retired from the US&nbsp;Army.&nbsp;Keith has two&nbsp;Bachelor's degree in Business and Theology.&nbsp; He also has&nbsp;his Master's degree in&nbsp;Marriage and Family Therapy.&nbsp;&nbsp;Keith currently works&nbsp;as a school counselor.&nbsp;&nbsp;
