Why in Puerto Vallarta?

So you can have a vacation too! Use our wedding as an excuse.

How do I get there?

Please refer to the "Transportation" page of the site.

Do I need cash?

For the most part, shops accept credit cards, but smaller stores tend to prefer cash (MXN pesos), also symbolized as "$", so don't be surprised when buying a $30 Water! Exchange rates vary between 16-20 MXN per USD.

What's the best way to get around town?

Uber is generally cheaper compared to Taxis, so we recommend this if you plan on travelling longer distances, unless you are wanting to travel right from the Airport exit (Taxi is recommended here).

I want to get out of the Hotel but I'm too nervous to walk around and explore.

A 5-10 min walk to the Marina is our recommendation. There are lots of shops and restaurants, including most of our recommended restaurants.

Oh no! I forgot to bring [Insert Amenity]

There are TONS of pharmacies in the area and there is a well-known convenience store chain right in front of the Westin Hotel, called OXXO. (shaving cream, sunscreens, deodorant etc...)

What's the weather like in November?

Tropically pleasant. We expect the weather to be mildly humid, sunny, with temperature of 60's- to low 80s F. Minimal chance of rain.

How's the beach?

The beach-side of the hotels in the area are not white sand unfortunately, however, they make for a nice, quick ocean soak; they are generally clean and safe to get in to (Please pay attention to warning flags). The location was chosen for ease of access specially for those who are not used to travelling abroad. It's about 10 min from the airport.

What can I do around the area?

MANY THINGS! Please check out the "Things to do page". There are nearby beaches that are hidden gems to casual tourists such as Las Animas, Las Caletas, Yelapa. You may also do sport fishing (and have a restaurant cook it for you, inquire at the Marina shops for these). Or you may just chill in the hotel if that's your vibe. We may plan a trip to one of these beaches depending on how busy our schedules are, please inquire with Tania and Richard.

Any recommended alcohol drinks?

Margaritas are nice, but try out Westin Hotel's Guava & mint Mezcalito cocktail. It's nice and refreshing, perfect for the weather. As of June '25, hotel guests may participate in their daily cocktail mixing activity for free once per stay!
