Getting There

Flights:

Options include United Airlines, Aeromexico, and Volaris if flying from Fresno. When choosing flights, we recommend either flying from, or having a layover at, a major US airport such as LAX or SFO. If you have a connecting flight at some Mexican airports, such as Guadalajara, you may have to exit immigration and re-do security all over again; this can be cumbersome if it's not your final destination airport. If choosing Volaris, be aware of significant extrasurcharge if adding checked luggage AFTER ticket purchase.

Heads up

You will need to fill out a declaration form when you get to Mexico. Sometimes the declaration form is given to you when you get your ticket/check bag in or in the plane. It will also be available once you land. It is better if you complete it before landing.*Bring a pen*Once you get in the country, they will give you a receipt that you will need to keep in your possession. According to the paper, you will not be able to return to the country if you lose it or you might need to pay a fine. They do not always ask for it but just in case do not lose it. While traveling in Mexico, not all flights will have a passenger jet bridge. There might be stairs and buses involved. Please keep that in mind.

Transportation

At the airport you can only take taxi. We recommend getting the service from the booths right before the airport exit.

The Westin hotel is located in Zone 1A. For us, it was 320 pesos that equals around 17 dollars. You can expect something similar to that. Example photo below is from the Taxi co. "Trip Vallarta"Blue copy is yours to keep and orange copy is given to the driver. A staff outside may assist you to a taxi when they see your ticket.

DO NOT get services from the corridor where people sell timeshares and car rentals (it's after baggage claim). Just smile and say "No, gracias".

Uber is available outside airport to get around in Puerto Vallarta. If you wish to take Uber after landing, you need to exit the airport and cross the street via an overpass.

November is a busy month so please do your reservations early﻿. Pay close attention to the warning flags in the beach area. There have been crocodiles seen by the rocks during the rainy season. It is usually not a problem in November. We recommend staying at the Westin or Club Regina, but it is not required. Pictures from the hotels' website are accurate. You are welcome to stay at the most convenient location for you and your family. Many hotel options in the area

A bit of Mexican charm. A budget friendlier option compared to Westin but still a great location (actual ceremony location too!). Great restaurant options within the hotel and within walking distance. Breakfast options for a la carte and all you can eat. Many options for suites to choose from; including those with connecting rooms, kitchenette, living room, and a jetted tub in a private balcony area.Most suites have a jetted tub except the studio double. Also, there is an extra bathroom in the living room/ kitchen area. Only 10 minutes from airport We did not get a room block since pricing was very similar to other websites.

Hotel Club Regina esta localizado en la Marina. Solo 10 minutos de aeropuerto. También esta a 10-15 minutos de los establecimientos y restaurantes en la parte principal de la Marina. El hotel tiene mucho detalle y un ambiente tranquilo en las habitaciones pero con mas ambiente fiestero en la sección de alberca. Playa cuenta con palapas y camas para broncear sin costo adicional.Una opción más económica al Westin con habitaciones muy completas. Dependiendo de lo que escojas pueden contar con habitaciones conectadas, cocina, sala, y bañera de hydromasaje en un balcón privado.No tenemos bloqueo de habitaciones ya que los precios eran muy similares a otras paginas de internet.

El hotel se encuentra a 10 minutos de aeropuerto y de una distancia corta caminando de la calle principal donde encontraras mas restaurantes. · Westin es conocido por sus camas fenomenales, ambiente relajante, y servio espectacular. · Todos los cuartos cuentan con vista al mar ya sea completa o parcial. · Cuentan con habitaciones con su propio balcón y su propia pequeña alberca pero no en todos los cuartos · El primer piso esta bajo remodelación pero tendrá una alberca más grande afuera de la habitación (no es la alberca principal). Las fotos están disponibles en su pagina de internet. Todos los cuartos son suites por lo cual son grandes y cuentan con balcón privado.

Si gustas quedarte en algún otro hotel, no hay problema. Lo que sea más fácil para ti y la familia.
