Erin’s Version:
I matched with Tanner on a dating app in September 2023--feels like so much longer ago than that! I actually said no to Tanner at first on the app, but decided to give him a second chance when he sent me a cute message. We chatted for a week before having our first date at Superior Grill in Baton Rouge. I thought he was cute and he earned points for mentioning the musical Sweeney Todd within the first five minutes. He had a tendency to interrupt but I decided to chalk that up to excitement and agreed to a second date. A second date of trivia and musical bingo turned into four dates within the first week, and by the end of that week I knew he was something special.
Before I knew it, I was asking my parents if I could bring this boy home to Indiana for Christmas, where they fell in love with him just like I did. When I found out in February 2024 that I’d be moving to Pennsylvania for my last year of my PhD program, I knew I needed Tanner by my side--a pretty easy ask, considering he told me within the first two weeks that he would follow me anywhere. He has lived up to that promise by following me to Pennsylvania, accompanying me on a cruise around the Mediterranean (sharing a suite with my parents!), and soon moving with me to Arizona! He continues to be the best roommate, personal chef, and travel partner in the world, and I’m so lucky to be able to share my life with him!


Tanner’s Version:
I knew I loved Erin the moment I met her. She walked into Superior Grill with poise and confidence and we talked for 4 hours straight without even eating! I couldn’t stop thinking about her and we saw each other whenever we could. I told her I was gonna marry her but she was cautious and pragmatic. Finally she realized we were meant to be so we moved in together in Baton Rouge. She met my family and I met her family in Indiana and then everyone knew we were getting married. Erin got accepted to Penn State and we moved 1200 miles with the help of her parents Kevin and Pat Sue. We settled in and I bought a ring as soon as I could. I proposed in our little one bedroom apartment on a warm summer night and she said yes. The rest is history and the future is a mystery, see y’all in July! <3
