Tanner and Austin met when Tanner was actually on the opposite side of the globe! Tanner was in India for work and asked her coworker (who is now her best friend!) if her husband had any single friends. Her response was "actually yes". After a bit of liquid courage they decided to FaceTime Austin at 11pm. To Tanner's luck Austin boldly answered, even if it was 9:30am in the U.S. They continued talking while Tanner was out of the country and finally met in person when she returned to Omaha. The rest is history!

The week that Tanner and Austin got engaged, Tanner's best friend Kenzie mentioned that the guys were going to be going "golfing". This gave Kenzie an excuse to get dressed up under the impression that they were going to get some appetizers and drinks while the guys golfed. Kenzie ensured that Tanner was dressed up and ready with the excuse that she wanted to take pictures together later in the day. Once the guys were done "golfing" (they weren't actually golfing at all!) the girls were going to meet them to watch the Husker volleyball game so the girls headed to the "bar" the guys were at. This is when Tanner checks the location of the bar on her phone and sees, much to her surprise, that her mom, step mom, brothers, and Austin were all at the same place. She then realized what was happening, but had absolutely no idea before that moment. Tanner and Kenzie arrived at a park area with a lake where Tanner was instructed to go towards the water. She found Austin there waiting. He got down on one knee, proposed, and of course she said yes! Their family was hiding, waiting to congratulate them and celebrate the amazing moment. They got to celebrate with even more friends and family at the bar who were also there waiting to surprise the couple. The day was filled with so much joy and they got to spend it surrounded by everyone they love!
