Picture of Our Story

In 2012, Graham and Tanya first met at a small bar near the University of Alberta. After resolving some disagreements over music selection, Graham spent the night teaching Tanya how to two-step. She was so captivated by his dance moves and his blue eyes that she asked for this number before the night ended.

The following summer, people knew things were getting serious between them when Graham asked Tanya to attend his cousin’s wedding as his girlfriend. Little did she know, she was the first girl he would be bringing home to meet his family, and even less to her knowledge, she would be meeting his entire family, relatives and all. The night went better then expected and Graham and Tanya showed off their newly learned dance moves all night long. Before the night was over, Graham’s little cousins sat him down and said, “We like her a lot, don’t mess this up, we think you should marry her!”

As time moved along, their relationship continued to flourish, filled with many memorable adventures such as Graham teaching Tanya how to ski, hiking, camping, backpacking in the mountains of Alberta and British Columbia, and traveling to Thailand in 2014 to meet Tanya’s family and friends for the first time and learning how to scuba dive. Throughout their journey, Graham and Tanya navigated through the inevitable growing pains that come with any relationship. Each challenge brought them closer, deepening their understanding and appreciation for one another’s similarity and differences.

Recognizing the strength of their bond and how much they meant to each other, they decided to adopt a dog and take the exciting step of purchasing a new home together in 2021.

In the spring of 2023, during one of their adventures on Vancouver Islands, after a long hike to the top of Mount Erskin, Graham surprised Tanya by asking her to marry him. Stunned, but with a big smile, she managed to say, "Is this for real?" and then a “Yes”, and Graham slipped the ring onto her ring.

Soon after, Graham accepted a job opportunity in Kelowna that either of them could refuse and they both took the leap and moved their along with their Lola to start a new adventure.

We are excited to have you celebrate this next chapter in our relationship with us in Thailand!
