Our story starts 12 years ago when Tara becomes the new girl at school, and Charlie couldn’t help but be the class clown to get her attention. From playful water fights to brutal banter, they quickly found themselves inseparable. Before they knew it, they were wreaking havoc in Home Economics by burning chocolate in the microwave and attempting to convince the teacher, that using spices other than pepper is acceptable.

Without realising, they never missed a day without texting each other (thank goodness her Dad never saw the phone bills that included 4am calls). Their bond grew more and more during the seven years of friendship, and so did everyone’s interrogations. “Do you guys like each other?”, “Tara, how can you not see Charlie loves you?” and their favourite “Can you guys get married and have a baby so we can see what a half Middle Eastern and half Asian baby looks like?”. Funnily enough, God was working in the background to ensure that Charlie didn’t have to be friend-zoned for any longer than 7 years.

Picture this, after 24 hours of preparing a relay for Cancer Council for 2 thousand locals, Charlie and Tara finally got a moment to sit down. They were exhausted, covered in bin juice and dirt, and they decided to listen to Ed Sheeran’s new “Divide” album to drown their aching muscles. The song “Perfect” came on, and just like the million other people in the world, the song spoke to them on a deeper level (well, it hit Tara in the face). Tara looked at Charlie and realised that it was time to stop running away from the one person who had always loved her unconditionally. So that night, they talked and cried until the sun came out, and in the morning, they realised that they would spend the rest of their lives together.

When they announced the news, some were stunned, while others breathed a sigh of relief that they had finally come to their senses. The following 4 years were nothing short of romantic. Their love only grew and grew as they served together in Sunday School, went on endless adventures, spent hours upon hours in the kitchen and late-night antics in the gym involving a lot of pre-workout. And you know what they say, couples that gym together, stay together, so… Charlie proposes!

Charlie starts to plan how he would pop the question in a way that would be special to the both of them. He thought what a better opportunity than to book a fantastic dinner at Cumulus Inc., followed up with an escape room where Charlie had worked closely with in preparation of the special moment. The night rolls along smoothly, the escape room comes to a close end and then the cue for Charlie to get down on one knee comes on. *Insert cute AI dog from the escape room asking Tara to make one final decision, then Ed Sheeran’s ‘Perfect’ come’s on in the background*

“Tara, you have one final decision..” and the rest was a sobby mess as Charlie tries to fight back the tears as he ask’s Tara to be his forever after..

And of course it was the easiest ‘YES’ Tara had ever had to say.

We truly thank God for bringing us together, for all the amazing memories and for the amazing people in our lives who mentored and prayed for us. We cannot wait to celebrate with every single one of you.
