How we met? Justin's mother, Wendy! LOL

As many of you already know, I work in healthcare & I work at the same facility as Wendy. Wendy was (and still is) the Director of Nursing at the facility we work at aka a big boss.

It was Wednesday, October 28, 2020. I had gone to dinner with one of my best friend's (and now bridesmaid), Robyn, along with two other co-workers to Mr. Sushi that night. The next day Robyn & our one co-worker happened to be in Wendy's office talking about dinner the night before. They were chatting and had mentioned that I was there. Wendy suddenly interjected and asked Robyn, 'Is Tara single?' Of course Robyn as my best friend replies, 'uh YES. Why?' Wendy replied saying, 'I would love to set her up with my son, Justin.' Ever since that conversation that night, Robyn & Wendy were on a mission. I think they thought they were professional match makers.

Not soon after that conversation, I received a text from Robyn saying, 'what do you think of this guy???' along with 3 pictures attached of him. I replied saying, 'oh he's cute! ...who is he?' And of course, I immediately followed up by asking the important questions, 'How tall is he? How old is he? Does he have a good job?' Robyn replied saying, 'His name is Justin, he's 6'3, union electrician. Really good job.' I thought to myself, WOW the whole package, what's the catch though...? So I replied to Robyn saying, 'So who is he?? How do you know him???' Robyn replied, 'Wendy's son.' I read her text and my jaw dropped. I immediately replied to her, 'Wendy like Director of Nursing Wendy?' Robyn said yes. I texted her back and said 'absolutely not, are you out of your mind???' LOL

She went on to tell me how it came about, and that the entire thing was Wendy's idea.

The next step of their matching making plan was to actually set us up. The same night Robyn had texted me pictures of Justin, Wendy had mentioned me to Justin. Justin walked in from school that night & Wendy held up her phone with a picture of me on it saying, 'What do you think of this girl? You think she's cute?' Justin, nonchalantly, replied 'yeah.' Wendy answers him back by saying, 'Good, here's her number, text her.' Wendy went on to explain to him who I was and how she wanted to set us up. Justin, being the out-going and bubbly guy that he is, got my number and never texted me.

A few days later, Robyn had asked me if Justin texted me. When I told her no, she said let me talk to Wendy. A few hours later, Robyn sends me Justin's phone number & says to text him. I told Robyn, I'm not texting him, what will I say, 'hey I work with your mother, let's go on a date!' ????

Well about a week goes by and I hadn't received a text from Justin. At that point I thought, what do I have to lose, let me just text him. It was November 2, 2020 & I texted him saying, 'Hey Justin, this is Tara! I work with Wendy & she mentioned you to me. Figured I'd reach out to say hi and see if you wanted to talk or just grab dinner sometime :)' An hour later he replied to me & 3 weeks later on November 24, 2020 he picked me up for our first date. The rest is history :)
