Our Wedding

Tara and Sean met in January 2020, just before the world turned upside down. At the time, Tara had just begun her second semester of law school – while Sean was settling into post-grad life, having moved to Dallas to pursue a consulting position at Mercer. Their paths crossed one fateful evening at The Happiest Hour, a sports bar in Dallas, while waiting in line for the bathroom on the upstairs patio. What started as shared impatience over a group monopolizing the bathroom quickly turned into effortless banter. Later that night, they reconnected at the bar. Tara dared Sean to eat a decorative flower and once he did, she allowed him to buy her a drink. The two spent the rest of the evening on the open-air patio, talking for hours under the city lights. Not long after, Sean asked Tara on their first date. When the world shut down in March 2020 due to COVID-19, so did all the usual date spots. However, that strange, uncertain time became an unexpected gift. Without the distractions of packed schedules and busy venues, they got to know each other in a more genuine way – trading bar crawls for wine and board games and concerts for late-night drives around the city listening to their favorite music. One of their first official dates was at the Galaxy Drive-In Movie Theatre, complete with pillows, blankets, snacks and plenty of wine. They made it official on March 20, 2020. Sean soon met Duke, Tara’s rambunctious Siberian Husky-Australian Shepherd mix. Though Duke gave Sean a run for his money at first, the two eventually became fast friends. As restrictions lifted, Tara and Sean took full advantage of remote work with long walks, mid-day lunch breaks, and a trip to the&nbsp;U.S. Virgin Islands with friends – after only a few months of dating. Tara moved into Sean’s apartment in July 2021, and by November, they had signed the lease on their first apartment together. In May 2023, Sean made good on his long-standing promise: if Tara passed the Texas Bar Exam, he’d get her a dachshund. Enter Wendy – their beloved long-haired cream dachshund, who immediately stole their hearts (and the couch). In November 2024, Sean surprised Tara with a weekend “staycation” at a boutique hotel in downtown Fort Worth. On the rooftop bar, surrounded by views of the Sundance Square and the city skyline, he got down on one knee. After she said yes, they celebrated the way they started – at the drive-in. From strangers in a bar to pandemic partners finding joy in a world on pause, from roommates to dog co-parents, Sean and Tara’s story has been anything but ordinary. Now, they can’t wait to start their next chapter.

Laura is Tara's closest sister in age and in soul. She is a gracious host to Tara/Sean when they often decide to visit Houston – usually with only hours of notice to prepare. Laura and Tara have miraculously grown past their sibling squabbles of youth and now communicate almost daily via sending each other memes on Instagram.

Meagan and Tara first met their senior year of high school when they were both asked to St. Thomas' Homecoming, and their dates were part of the same friend group. They later reunited at a Texas Tech party freshman year and became thick as thieves. Both studying psychology, they took many classes together and attempted (with some degree of success) to counsel one another through the throes of young adulthood.

Izzy introduced Rebecca and Tara freshman year at Tech after they all pledged Theta. They bonded over both liking indie music, the outdoors and dogs. Rebecca and Tara lived together for 3 years in college and much of Duke's parenting success should be attributed to Rebecca. Rebecca and Tara are now both dog moms and still go to concerts together.

Andrea and Tara met in high school when they were on drill team together and grew closer when they both went Theta at Texas Tech. Andrea was Tara's college mom, as well as Duke's co-parent, when they lived together for 2 years. Duke helped Andrea open up her heart to pets, and she is now the proud step-mom of Marcus Helfand. Tara is very proud of Andrea.

Kathryn is Tara's eldest sister by 11 years, her second mother and former resident babysitter. Kathryn and Tara were both Thetas at Texas Tech and will forever share that bond – along with their love of shopping and dog ownership.

Julie is Tara's second-closest sister in age and hosts Tara/Sean when they visit Denver. Julie and Tara share a love of clothes and beauty products, which they would probably continue to steal from each other if they lived in the same city again.

Alyssa is Sean's older sister and a longtime resident of NYC. Just three years apart, Alyssa and Sean grew up playing sports together and continued to be each other’s biggest fans as they both played collegiate sports. Alyssa encouraged Tara to embrace the Ahern legacy of sports fandom: unfettered confidence in and love for the Cincinnati Bengals.

Cousins born just two days apart, growing up, Alex and Sean were inseparable and ultra-competitive – teaming up at the pool or playing driveway sports. They’ve shared a lifetime of memories, from childhood mischief to watching Alex play basketball at Xavier. Alex has always been more like a brother to Sean.

Sean and Bhaskar met in Dallas and quickly became close friends and roommates. Sean was a groomsman at Bhaskar’s wedding and is godfather to his son, Rishi. Over the years, Bhaskar and his wife, Ellen, have become like family to Sean and Tara.

Sean and Conor met in high school at St. Xavier and became fast friends. Their bond has always been built on mischief, stubbornness, and a shared refusal to follow each other’s advice. Although Conor now lives in Columbus and Sean in Dallas, Conor remains one of his most consistent friendships.

Sean and Dave grew up as school rivals but became close in college, especially during Sean’s long winter breaks – where he basically lived at Dave’s house. Their friendship grew through years of shared downtime, dumb jokes, and time spent avoiding responsibility. Dave had Sean as a groomsman in his wedding, and they’ve remained close ever since.

From preschool to grade school and every phase in between, Mark and Sean have known each other nearly their entire lives. As lifelong teammates and family friends, their bond has stood the test of time. These days, they stay connected through golf, where Mark regularly relieves Sean of his money — with a smile.

Sean and Dave played high school football together at St. Xavier and reconnected when Dave moved to Dallas for his job. Their friendship picked up instantly, strengthened by golf, Bengals heartbreaks, and weekly trips to Christie’s. They have attempted, with some degree of success, to make Christie’s a Bengals bar. Through wins, losses, and hopeful Sundays, they’ve shared plenty of laughs (and pain).

Le Blanc Spa Resort Los Cabos All Inclusive Adults Only

We courage our guests to book their airfare early to secure the best rates. Los Cabos International Airport (i.e. "SJD," San José del Cabo International Airport) is about 35 minutes from the resort. Due to local taxi regulations, Uber/Lyft drivers are not permitted to drop off or pick up at the airport. Transportation to and from the resort can be booked through our travel agent when booking your stay. Airport transfers may also be booked directly through the resort at the following website: <a href="https://transfers.palaceresorts.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://transfers.palaceresorts.com/</a> However, taxis are also readily available at the airport! Sean &amp; Tara took a taxi from the airport so that they may better answer any questions. Once you collect your bags (if applicable), right before exiting the airport, you'll go through 2 corridors. In the first corridor, agents from the taxi company/rental car services will greet you and ask if you need a ride. You'll go over to the counter and say you need a taxi to the Le Blanc resort. They'll go over transport options (shared van, private sedan/SUV), and you'll make your selection. Then, you'll go through the second corridor to pay for the taxi. They do accept credit card. We booked a private sedan, and it was around $70 for the 35-minute drive. Please reach out if you have any questions!

Medano Beach is the main swimmable beach in Cabo San Lucas—a long, lively stretch of shoreline located northeast of the marina, right in the heart of Cabo. You can relax by the turquoise waters at beachfront restaurants and bars or explore the waters by paddleboard, jet-ski or parasail. Medano Beach is the launch point for boats and water taxis that take you to El Arco and Lover's/Divorce Beach. *It is about 20 minutes from Le Blanc.

Take a break from the beach and set out on an unforgettable adventure through the Baja desert with a camel as your guide. This guided safari includes a scenic camel trek along the Pacific shoreline, a cultural eco-tour through the Baja outback, and a festive taco and tequila tasting afterward. This "Blanc Experience" may be booked directly through the resort's concierge. Round-trip transportation is included.

Outback & Camel Ride Safari

Santa María Beach is a swimmable horseshoe-shaped bay framed by dramatic desert cliffs. It is regarded as one of the prettiest beaches in Cabos due to its pink-hued sand, crystal clear waters, and marine wildlife. Snorkeling is popular here. This beach is less crowded than Medano and Lover’s/Divorce Beach. There are restrooms and smaller food vendors, but there are no bars or beach clubs. *It is about 10 minutes from Le Blanc.

Santa María Beach

Six days a week (closed Saturdays), Enrique, a Cabo local and owner of a dog training facility, opens up what is normally private property, allowing tourists to hike Mt. Solmar in the mornings with his dogs. This challenging hike brings you 440 feet over Land's End, with unbelievable peak views. The hike up takes about 45 minutes, and you can expect the experience to last around 2-2.5 hours. Enrique's dog training camp is the official meeting point for the hike. Guests must arrive at the meeting point by 7:45 a.m. for the 8 a.m. hike. The hike is free, but tips are expected. *It is about 10 minutes from Le Blanc.

Mt. Solmar

Cabo Real Golf Club is a championship 18-hole course designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. Set within the desert foothills and hugging the Sea of Cortez shoreline. This scenic layout offers stunning ocean views and rolling fairways that cater to both beginners and seasoned golfers. The front nine descends toward the water with dramatic cliffside holes, while the back nine weaves through rugged terrain and elevated greens. After your round, enjoy the clubhouse and dine at their restaurant with shaded patio seating. This "Blanc Experience" may be booked directly through the resort's concierge.

Golf at Cabo Real Golf Club

As the terracotta-colored point where the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez meet, Land's End is a mesmerizing spectacle. "El Arco" is the legendary granite arch at Land's End—created from the rough winds and seas of the southern Baja Peninsula. El Arco connects Lover's Beach to Divorce Beach. Best seen by boat from Medano Beach or the marina—opt for a glass‑bottom or sunset cruise. You can also visit this site via water taxi from the downtown marina, which you can expect to cost around $15 to $20. Spot sea lions, dolphins, and take in this stunning natural landmark. *It is about 20 minutes from Le Blanc.

El Arco at Land's End

Tucked into the Land’s End cliffs, these side-by-side beaches offer two dramatically different vibes. Lover’s Beach features calm, swimmable waters and golden sand, while Divorce Beach faces the wild Pacific—stunning, but not safe for swimming. Accessible only by boat (Medano Beach or Cabo Marina), the short walk between the two makes this a must-do adventure. There are no restaurants or restrooms on these beaches. *It is about 20 minutes from Le Blanc.

Lover's Beach and Divorce Beach

Tucked in the foothills outside San José del Cabo, Flora Farms is a 25-acre organic farm offering fresh, seasonal dining, craft cocktails, live music, and charming artisan shops. Enjoy brunch at Flora’s Field Kitchen, sip garden-infused drinks at the Farm Bar, or wander the flower-lined paths. It's a perfect escape for foodies and romantics alike. Reservations are recommended. *It's about 20 minutes from Le Blanc.

Held every Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., the Art Walk transforms San José del Cabo’s charming historic district into a lively celebration of local culture. Stroll cobblestone streets lined with galleries, artisan stalls, live music, wine tastings, and vibrant street food. *It is about 20 minutes from Le Blanc.

On Friday, April 10, 2026, we will be taking a sunset boat cruise on the "TwentyFive" Catamaran. We will meet in the Le Blanc Lobby at 3:15 PM to board the buses that will take us to the marina. Drinks, appetizers and vibes will be served on the boat, but please have lunch beforehand. Weather permitting, those who want to swim can take a dip, so feel free to bring a swimsuit. Guests should wear any color they'd like, including white. The boat cruise will last from 4 PM to 7 PM. We can expect to be back at Le Blanc by ~7:30 PM.
