Our Story

The Beginning

The first time Rob had seen Tara was at a Halloween house party in 2020. The scene was set perfectly with her dressed in a dinosaur costume and drinking out of a wine bag. You get the idea of what Rob saw in her from day one. A year later she moved in with our friend Courtney, which just happened to be the fiancée of DJ, Rob's roommate. As both of our houses are heading back from a fun night in LA after watching a RAYLR concert (Taylor's band- Rob's groomsman) we begin having small talk and holding hands. Both of us were nervous and excited of the reality of our relationship escalating from being just friends to something more. We determined the risk was worth it as friends and family assured us that we should give it a shot.

The Proposal

For months of dating and behind the scenes work by Rob of securing the ring and finalizing the plans for the most perfect day it was finally time to ask the big question. In August, Tara and Rob depart to Seattle where multiple friends, her two sisters, and mom are all hiding within the city. A hot air balloon was booked in anticipation for this moment. On August 26th they head to Muckleshoot casino at 4am in an Uber. They arrive and wait in the freezing cold for 40 minutes, not receiving responses from the pilots to their multiple frantic messages. Tara then proceeds to check her email where she finds out that the hot air balloon was canceled the night before while they were out at a Mariners game. Now they must head back but an Uber cost $368, so they start walking for a few miles toward a Denny's to figure things out. Of course, Tara had an idea of what was going to happen that day so she assumes Rob is now going to pop the question at Denny's, hiding the ring in a pancake as a last resort. Rob on the other hand is scrambling, making calls and sending texts to quickly rearrange the plan. Friends and family decorate our hotel room as well as the roof where there was a beautiful garden with an even more beautiful view, which would have an even more beautiful girl standing in that view in about 40 minutes. After Rob has to make a stop at a coffee shop to settle his nerves and stomach, they then head back to the hotel rooftop to enjoy their coffee and pastries. Of course that never happened because this was the moment that we finally got the question "Will you marry me?"
