Our Story

Every love story begins somewhere; Tarah's and Ty's began with a simple swipe and a spark of curiosity in&nbsp;July 2021. What started as a few lighthearted chats soon paused with life’s distractions. It would be months before Tarah would break the silence with one message that would change the course of their fizzled conversations:&nbsp;“Hey, stranger!”&nbsp;That brave little text reignited the spark and reopened the door to something beautiful waiting to unfold. From there, conversations flowed with ease: late-night calls, FaceTime laughter, and words that stretched into the early hours. When they finally met Face-to-Face in&nbsp;January 2022, it felt like rediscovering someone they’d known all along. What began as chance quickly felt like destiny finding its rhythm.

Over time, their relationship blossomed with plenty of laughter, heartfelt notes, and milestones that brought them closer together. They connected over their shared love of food, family, and travel. Their first trip together—to Cancun, Mexico—became a turning point. It was Ty’s first international trip, but it was so much more than a passport stamp. Together, they discovered the magic of exploring the world side by side. Under the warmth of the sun and the rhythm of the ocean, they found connection not just in the places they visited, but in the way they saw life through each other’s eyes. Travel became their love language—a reminder that every new horizon is sweeter when shared. It’s no wonder they chose to return to Mexico to promise forever in the very place where the world first opened for them.

As their love deepened, so did their family. With intention and care, Tarah and Ty blended their worlds—creating a home filled with laughter, love, and the joyful energy of their eldest children, Marley and Little Ty. In the summer of 2024, they celebrated a new milestone by purchasing their first home, a warm and welcoming space that soon echoed with the sounds of their newest blessing, Maverick, who arrived that fall and completed their beautiful circle of love.

From that first swipe to creating a family and a home, Tarah and Ty’s story has been one of love, growth, and adventure. Now, they’re thrilled to return to the place that marked the start of their shared adventures—Mexico—to say “I do” surrounded by the people who mean the most to them.

We invite guests to wear all-white attire that is polished, stylish, and comfortable for an evening rooftop gathering. Think polished resort wear—linen fabrics, flowing dresses, stylish separates, and smart-casual looks that are comfortable for a warm August evening in Cancun.

For Ladies: White sundresses, maxi dresses, jumpsuits, coordinated sets, or polished resort-inspired ensembles paired with dressy sandals or wedges. To create a timeless and cohesive look for our celebration, we kindly request All-Black, Black-Tie attire for our ceremony &amp; reception. This dress code is an intentional part of the atmosphere we've thoughtfully envisioned and helps set the tone for the evening. We know this request requires intention, especially for a destination celebration, and we are sincerely grateful for the care you bring in honoring it. Seeing our loved ones gathered together in black will be a moment we cherish forever.

For LadiesYour participation allows us to bring our shared vision fully to life. Thank you for celebrating with us in such a meaningful way! The Look: A formal, black floor-length gown is encouraged. Alternatives: An elegant black tea-length (mid-calf) formal dress or a sophisticated black formal jumpsuit are also acceptable options. Accessories: Simple, refined accents are encouraged. Consider black, classic metallics (gold, silver, etc.) or feature clear stones. What to avoid: Any non-black attire, prints, patterns, or statement colors.

For GentlemenA classic black tuxedo is the customary standard for a Black-Tie event. We are deeply grateful for the care and intention this requires and truly appreciate your participation. The Look: A black tuxedo or formal black suit. Shirt: A black dress shirt or white dress shirt with black detailing. Neckwear: A formal black bow tie or black tie. Shoes: Black patent leather dress shoes or polished black leather oxfords.

We cannot wait to celebrate this special moment with our closest friends and family! For your convenience, a block of rooms has been reserved at Garza Blanca for our guests. Please use the link below to reserve accommodations at the resort for a discounted rate. A minimum of 3 nights is required, guests are welcome to extend their stay on either end of the pre-selected block.

Where do I make my nightly dinner reservations?While not required, it is highly recommended that guests consider booking a reservation in advance for dining experiences they'd like to enjoy during their stay. Note: While there's a wide variety of gourmet dining options available at Garza Blanca Cancun, the restaurants are each scheduled to open for dinner on pre-selected nights. I noticed the Welcome Party start time changed, what happened?We adjusted the start time for the Welcome Party to allow guests adequate time to situate themselves after their day of travel. Previously, we planned to gather around the rooftop pool at 3:00 PM which wouldn't have worked for most guests. because Check - in starts at 4:00 PM daily. As such, our we're asking guests to throw on their best summer white and join us at the rooftop for laughter and libations. What should I wear to the Welcome Party?The attire for the Welcome Party is all-white, elevated casual. Checkout the Dress Code page for inspiration. What is the attire for the wedding?Please note that the attire for our wedding is black tie (in the color ALL BLACK). We kindly request classic and elegant outfits: black tuxedos or suits for men, and black gowns or floor-length dresses for women.
