If you had told us back in college that a restaurant job would eventually lead us here, we probably would have laughed — but that’s exactly how our story began. Brock and I were both working at Jefferson’s Pub & Grill in Winona, Minnesota, and after countless shifts together doing side work, closing up, and helping at events, we naturally spent a lot of time around each other. Pretty quickly, we realized there was something there, even if neither of us said it out loud right away.

What started as small talk and laughing together at work turned into hanging out after our shifts, spending time with friends, going out to our favorite college bar Gabby’s, and basically finding any excuse to be together. Somewhere in the middle of all of that, it became obvious that being together felt easy and fun, and that we simply fit.

After six months of talking (and wondering when he would finally ask), Brock asked me to be his girlfriend on December 2, 2018. From that point on, everything fell into place. We spent most of our time together, and six months later we moved in with each other. It immediately felt right.

Since then, we’ve built a life filled with laughter, adventures, support, and so many shared memories. We grew up together in a lot of ways, and we’ve always made sure to enjoy the little things and keep choosing each other.

Everything came full circle when Brock proposed back in Winona, the place where it all started. He completely surprised me by taking me to the top of the bluff lookout, overlooking the town where our story began, and asking me to marry him. Afterwards, we celebrated with our closest family and friends, which made the weekend even more special.

Winona will always be an important part of our story, and now we’re so excited to start this next chapter surrounded by the people who have loved and supported us along the way.
