Elk Island National Park

Elk Island National Park is a national park that played an important part in the conservation of the Plains bison. This "island of conservation" is 35 km east of Fort Saskatchewan, and is home to many activities and wildlife adventures. Information about the park is available here:

Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village

The Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village is an open-air museum that uses costumed historical interpreters to recreate pioneer settlements in east central Alberta, Canada, northeast and east of Edmonton. The village hosts events, sells Ukrainian goods (such as perogies and sausage), and is located 43km from Fort Saskatchewan. More information is provided here.
