In early August 2020, Taryn had just moved into her first apartment in Raleigh to begin junior year at Meredith College. Just two days later, Trevor came by for a party at the apartment next door—his college friends happened to be Taryn’s new neighbors. Taryn introduced herself right away, and the two ended up talking the entire night. It was love at first sight. These are the very first photos they ever took together—capturing the beginning of something special.

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

Trevor and Taryn quickly became best friends, bonding over home-cooked dinners, adventures around Raleigh, and time spent with their favorite people. As they navigated their junior and senior years of college, their friendship blossomed into something even deeper and their love only grew stronger

OUR COLLEGE CHAPTER 

After their college graduations, Trevor and Taryn both moved back home to work for their family businesses. Even with the distance between them, their connection only grew stronger. Through every text, call, and countdown to the next visit, they kept their love steady and close, no matter the miles!

LONG DISTANCE, LASTING LOVE

On March 12th, 2025, Taryn drove to Trevor’s house, ready to kick off their “quarter-life crisis trip” to Key Largo, Florida in celebration of their 25th birthdays. But before the trip even began, Trevor had a surprise planned. As Taryn pulled into the driveway, Trevor stepped out from around the corner in a suit leaving Taryn completely speechless. Moments later, Trevor got down on one knee and asked the biggest question of all. What started as a birthday getaway quickly turned into an engagement celebration, and the best trip of their lives.

A trip to New Bern isn’t complete without a trip to Union Point Park, which is a scenic six-acre site located at the point of the Neuse and Trent Rivers in historic downtown. Enjoy picnics, strolls along the river, a walkway that bridges the Union Point to Bicentennial Park, two boat launches, restroom facilities, picnic tables, a fishing pier, grills, and a small playground.
