The first time our soon-to-be married couple met, was at Payton's fourth birthday party. Taryn's older brother, Garrett, had been invited and the entire Radtke family was in attendance. Payton and Garrett remained friends through their childhood years and graduated together from Union Mine High School in 2019. After graduation, Garrett and Payton would hang out at the Radtke house often, where the bride and groom-to-be's connection began! Taryn, less than two years younger than Garrett and Payton, was often invited to hang out. Garrett moved to Redding just before 2020, just prior to the Covid shut and the world was shut down, but Payton continued to hang out at the Radtke’s home as part of their small group of cohorts. After the world reopened, Taryn and Payton remained friends and it was a rare occasion for a weekend to go by without the two seeing each other. Everyone close to them could see the connection grow as the two fell in love. And after a fun evening of Karaoke, with Payton singing “Follow Me” one more time, secretly just for Taryn, the two figured it out and admitted their feelings for one other. Their first date was the following weekend… dinner at BJ's in Folsom. From there, never an evening apart, rotating between the Radtke and Finegan households. A short time later, in partnership with her parents, Taryn purchased a fixer-upper home in the Diamond Springs area. After two years of working on the house, the space became livable and the happy couple moved in together in October 2022. Quickly added to their family were two frisky kitties; Bucky and Rhodey, and last year, three chickens to the mix! After three and a half year courtship, Payton Finegan dropped to his knee, in front of friends and family on September 2nd, 2024 and asked Taryn Radtke for her hand in marriage. The happy couple will tie the knot on September 13th, 2025, and are excited to continue their love story and new lives as husband and wife!
