Like many modern love stories, ours began online—but not on a dating app. We met through a social media group the bride was moderating, a space built on encouragement, growth, and real conversations. At the time, we were both focused on becoming better versions of ourselves, each on our own personal journey of healing and self-discovery. What we didn’t expect was to find each other in the process.
Living in two different states—she in Illinois, and I in Kansas—our connection grew through long phone calls that stretched into the early hours. We talked about life, dreams, fears, and everything in between. Those conversations built a foundation of understanding and emotional intimacy that felt like home.
A few months later, we met in person—and it was magic. Everything we felt was real. But like many great love stories, ours wasn’t without its challenges. We soon realized we still had growing to do—individually—and made the difficult decision to part ways. For over a year, we walked separate paths, but not a day passed without the feeling that something unfinished lingered between us.
Then, on March 7th, 2021, after the world had been reshaped by a pandemic and time had softened past wounds, we found our way back to each other. Reconnecting felt natural—like picking up a song exactly where it left off. Shortly after, she moved to Kansas, and life began again... in slow, meaningful motion.
Our love deepened not through grand gestures, but through quiet moments—cooking dinner together, planning our future, and learning how to love each other better each day. We knew marriage was in our hearts long before we had rings to prove it. The proposal wasn’t traditional—there was no big production or flash—but it was real, intentional, and full of love. We both worked hard, saving for our lives together, putting love first through every twist and turn.
After rescheduling our wedding date more than once—life and finances doing what they do—we’ve finally arrived at the moment we’ve been dreaming of.
This love, born in growth, strengthened through time, and rooted in deep friendship, is one we know will last forever.
After all this time… always.
