Tatiana & Delano met around the age of 8 at church. They developed a childhood friendship and would spend hours and hours talking on the phone (before unlimited minutes were free).


Over the first few years of their friendship, Delano had a crush on Tatiana, but Tatiana only saw Delano as a friend. They remained friends until high school, when Tatiana left New York for boarding school. Delano would call Tatiana every night to check on her, literally every night. He became a strong support system for her in her first year, and Tatiana eventually began to see Delano as more than just a friend.


Tatiana & Delano officially started dating during their sophomore year in high school and went on their first date in December 2010 on Tatiana's 15th birthday. Delano saved up all his school allowance to take Tatiana to the movies and Applebees on 125th Street in Harlem. My guy thought he was rich and gave the waiter a $70 tip. This was the first of many fun dates to come.


Throughout the years, Delano and Tatiana have experienced many milestones together. Their parents threw them a surprise joint 16th birthday celebration. They attended Tatiana’s high school prom together and attended each other’s high school graduations. Even though they went on to attend colleges that were almost 400 miles away from each other, their connection remained strong. Throughout the school year, they would Skype for hours and hours at a time (their record Skype call was 16 hours). They supported each other emotionally and academically.


Tatiana and Delano attended each other’s college graduations in May 2017. Since then, they have been motivating each other as they pursue their careers and discover their God-given purposes together. They enjoy taking road trips, watching Chopped, cooking, and singing together. With the strong support and love of their parents and families, Tatiana and Delano have been able to build a beautiful relationship that they pray will be an encouragement to young couples. As they enter their marriage, Tatiana and Delano look forward to growing more in love and glorifying God together.
