Our Wedding

Carter and Tatiana first crossed paths on September 8, 2018, at a college party in Mankato, MN. From that day forward, Carter began spending more time with the friend group they shared, quickly becoming a regular presence. Fast forward to April 2020 and the COVID shutdown. With college life on pause, Carter and Tatiana’s two houses spent more and more time together. By summer, even though Tatiana had moved to Texas for graduate school, the two stayed connected and were talking nonstop. Finally, on October 8, 2020, Tatiana decided to make things official and ask Carter out (though Carter insists he was planning to ask her just a week later when she visited home). They spent two years making cross-country long-distance work before moving in together in Beloit, WI. After 9 months and a graduate degree later, the two (and their pup, JoJo) moved back to Minnesota—the place they now call home. On September 1, 2024, Carter proposed to Tatiana at his family’s cabin, right on the dock—her favorite spot. They can’t wait to celebrate their next big step surrounded by the people they love most!

This hotel is located about 30 minutes from the wedding venue. We plan to have a shuttle stop here to transport guests to and from the venue throughout the evening—so you can celebrate without worrying about the drive! This hotel will also have a room block available to our guests for the nights of Thursday &amp; Friday! These are great choices for guests planning to stay for the full Labor Day weekend or for those who prefer a more private, home-like stay. Whether you’re traveling with family or looking for a cozy spot by the lake, there are plenty of options to explore! Please feel free to contact Tatiana or Carter if you need help looking for an Airbnb/VRBO! We plan to stay at an Airbnb in Lake City, MN along with our wedding party and immediate family. However, we want each guest to choose a lodging option that fits their needs and budget!

Located about 20 minutes from the wedding venue, John Hall's Alaskan Lodge offers a relaxing stay right along the shores of scenic Lake Pepin. With suite-style accommodations and beautiful lake views, it’s a great option for guests wanting a peaceful getaway while still being close to downtown Lake City’s shops and restaurants.
