What is the currency exchange and where can I exchange my dollars?
$1=R17.50
One American Dollar is equivalent to approximately 17-20 Rand.
You can exchange your dollars at the airport or most national banks (contact your bank for information).
Are there Uber’s in Capetown?
Yes, Uber’s are readily available and they are perfectly safe!
Am I allowed to rent a car even though they drive on the left side of the road and right side of the car?
Yes, even with an American license you can rent a car at the airport and drive around!
Do I need any specific vaccines before visiting South Africa?
No vaccines are needed!
Can I bring my jewelry to wear?
You may wear your jewelry to attend the wedding, however, we advise against wearing anything valuable when traveling around the city.
How long is the flight to South Africa?
The average time from the USA to South Africa is 14 hours.
What is the Dress Code?
Dress to impress in your most formal attire! To ensure our wedding party stands out, we kindly ask guests to avoid shades of gold (our bridesmaids’ color) and blue (worn by the mothers of the bride and groom). Feel free to choose any other color that makes you feel fabulous!
Can I bring a guest/date?
Due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. If you received a plus one they will appear under your name when you RSVP. Thank you for your understanding and please feel free to reach out with any questions!
Are kids allowed?
Invitations will be specific and will include the names of the children who are invited.
When do we need to RSVP by?
Please kindly complete the RSVP by July 7th, 2025. If you do not RSVP in time we will assume that you are unable to attend.
RSVPs can be found in the RSVP tab in the menu.
What time should I arrive?
The ceremony will begin at 15h30 (3:30 pm). Please arrive at least 15-30 minutes before the ceremony to allow time for finding your seat.
Additionally, there will be a shuttle bus to that will leave from Krystal Beach Hotel at 15h00 (3 pm) for the wedding.
Can I take pictures during the ceremony?
We are having an unplugged ceremony, meaning that once the ceremony begins, we ask that all phones be put away and silenced. We want everyone to be present with us and for our photographers to be able to capture the best pictures which we will share with you. Once the ceremony is over, please feel free to take as many pictures as you'd like and don't forget to share them with us!
Will there be an open bar?
Yes! The drinks are on us and the hangover is on you — get ready to party!
Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?
The ceremony and cocktail hour will both be outdoors followed by an indoor reception.
