American Airlines
It is not the only option, but American Airlines does offer a direct flight to Rome (FCO) from Dallas (DFW) once a day.
Google Flights
Google flights is a great option for those maybe not coming from dallas or if you want to find the best deal out of your home airport. It will include all airlines and all connections possible to get you to Rome!
Car Rentals
Renting a car to travel from Rome to Positano can be a convenient option if you want to explore the Amalfi Coast and its beautiful towns at your own pace.
Airbnb
Airbnb's are a good way to go in this area. You can find some really nice places for decent prices. Preferably look around the "Conca den Marini" area on the Almafi coast.
Expedia
Hotels in the area are also a good option. We typically use Expedia when looking for hotels in Europe but other sites work as well. Make sure to read all information pertaining to the place you choose.
