Did you travel all this way to see some big mammals from the sea? Just below Hearst Castle, approximately 10 miles from Cambria, is the Elephant Seal Viewing Point, where you can catch a glimpse of some large, lounging seals. April will be just about the time when female elephant seals and juvenile seals will be making their return to the beach after a long, winter journey at sea.

Just a couple of miles from Cambria Pines Lodge are the Moonstone Beach Boardwalk and Moonstone Beach Drive, where you can snap some breathtaking photos of the beautiful central Californian coastline and vast Pacific Ocean.

If you're a rock enthusiast, and would like to check out an ancient volcanic mound, look no further than Morro Bay, California. Less than a 30 min drive south of Cambria, Morro Bay will provide you with some shopping, fresh fish, and kayaking in the bay. You might even catch a glimpse of some sea otters nesting lazily in it's waters and hear the occasional sea lion bark.

Known as one of the "most beautiful coastlines in the world," Big Sur sits just north of Cambria, sandwiched between sprawling cliffsides overlooking the Pacific Ocean and a beautiful forest filled with enormous redwood trees. About 2 and a half hours north of Cambria sits Monterey and the infamous Cannery Row and Monterey Bay Aquarium. While it is a longer trek from the wedding venue, it's a fantastic day trip for those coming in a little sooner or staying a little later.
