Tayler and Jacob’s love story began when they matched on a dating app in December 2021. After some playful banter about the superior flavor of Pop Tarts, Jacob was able to overcome his “wrong” answer and secure a first date.

On December 29, 2021 at Carsons restaurant, the two shared a three hour dinner until they eventually closed down the restaurant. Their next date, on New Year’s Day 2022, they saw Spider-Man: No Way Home and afterwards shared drinks at Drake’s — getting to know one another more and plotting out how they might become the next Tom & Zendaya. Add in being snowed in by a January blizzard and the duo became an inseparable pair, making things official on February 8, 2022.

Fast forward 17 months when Jacob surprised Tayler with a proposal on July 14, 2023. The two took a vacation to Chicago (Tayler’s first time visiting) and following a busy day of sightseeing including an incredible aquatics show from the Shedd Aquarium’s beluga whales and getting to meet Sue the T-Rex (who looks phenomenal for their age), the duo enjoyed a romantic dinner on the riverfront at Gibsons Italia. After dinner, Tayler and Jacob walked through River Point Park to view the art installation Constellation where Jacob then encouraged Tayler to get a closer view of the sculpture as a rabbit was hopping around it. While Tayler was distracted, Jacob got down on one knee and asked Tayler to marry him. Tayler, incredibly shocked, cried immediately but eventually gained the nerve to excitedly exclaim “Yes”. Perhaps most surprising to Tayler was that Jacob had managed to coordinate a photographer who was able to capture the whole engagement and all of the happy tears!

Since then the two have been hard at work preparing themselves as individuals and as a couple to spend the rest of their lives together – starting with a whirlwind move into their new townhome, where they happily reside with their extremely handsome labradoodle, Moose.
