In order to understand how Taylor + Joe came to be, you have to know the players. First there's Mike - Lieutenant at North Bellmore Fire Department. Taylor joined the dept. in 2018. Mike at the time was dating Carly, Joe's sister. Mike fell in love with Carly and was ready to make her his wife. While out teaching Taylor to drive the ambulance, Mike told Taylor the news (and she almost crashed the ambulance out of shear excitement). Weeks go by...Mike buys a ring and proposes. Carly + Mike plan an engagement party. One random evening in the summer, Mike text's Taylor about a "pool party"...leaving out all details of the engagement. Taylor shows up in crocs and a beat up pair of jeans and a dirty t-shirt to this very nice gathering. Joe is also at the party surrounded by friends. Taylor and Joe.....barely speak at said party. They have different circles but glances across the yard were shared. The next day - Taylor gets a direct message on Instagram (Joe did some digging). Joe invites Taylor out for a "trip to the beach"....leaving out they'd be going by boat. HIS boat. Taylor took a leap of faith and allowed a stranger to take her to the beach by boat (If you know Taylor, this is way too close to an episode of DATELINE for her liking). But - she is so glad she did.
