Our Story

As you've probably heard the famous saying “That one time at band camp.” Well... that's actually how our story goes. One day, actually the exact date was October 5th 2012. It was a beautiful, sunny, crisp fall afternoon on the band field during fourth period, when I was staring off into the distance of the football field, Casey came up from behind me to tap me on my shoulder to ask me a very hard and difficult question. Are you ok? Some of you may be asking why was this the first thing he ever said to me!? Very shockingly the day beforehand, my precious daddy passed away leaving us astonished and heartbroken. But that very small but simple question Are you ok? Led us to this day. I knew that when Casey walked up to me for the first time, I knew my daddy was standing behind him and I knew in my heart from that very moment that Casey was going to be the man I marry. Years go by, precious memories are made but the time came where we both knew it was time to part our ways, and take time to find ourselves and find our faith. We both reconnected 6 months later, but not by the best circumstances. A few weeks beforehand Casey's family found out that his beautiful momma had developed lung cancer. While I was not in his life at that time, I took it upon myself to message him after 6 months to say that I was thinking and praying for his mom, him and his family. During this time of talking to him we both decided that we wanted to get dinner one night to catch up on life and such. A week went by and BOY did that week go by SLOW! The day finally came where we both got to reconnect with each other, we decided to go to our absolute most restaurant in Asheville, BARTACO!!! As the night went along, we both realized that the 6 months apart, was actually one of the best things to ever happen to us. We took time to find our true selves, our true passions, and our true love for each other. The night ended, we went our separate ways and remained as friends, only to make it halfway home to received the text from Casey stating, “I want every night to be like tonight, I missed this, and us.” Our love re kindled, and months go by to come April 26th, 2018, the day that Casey's precious momma went to be with the Lord. And on that day something in my heart felt different, my heart felt different for Casey... I knew how hard it was gonna be for him and my heart just hurt and ached for him. I was standing on the back porch at Casey's house the morning this had happened, and with only me standing out there I felt something graze my shoulder lightly and I knew, it was my daddy. In my heart he told me this is why he left, he left me to bring Casey in my life when I was going to need someone the most, and at this time, he needed me the most. We both were each others saving graces in our most difficult times in need. Years, and years, and years, and even more years went by and the day came that WE ALL WAITED FOR, October 24th 2021. It was about dang time! Casey got down on one knee in front of the sweet and simple chapel in Cataloochee valley during our annual family picnic. And to say that it was the fastest and easiest YES! I have ever said in my life! We can't wait to share our such special day with our friends and family, and we can't wait to start this is crazy thing called life together as Mr. & Mrs. Casey Camp.
