Kai and I met through tiktok live in 2022. Plot twist I am from Texas and he is from Australia. Over the months, we kept going live together and then one day on TikTok , we decided as a joke, to try and find each other on Tinder. I had paid for Tinder Gold which allowed me to change my location to anywhere in the world. After 30 plus swipes, I found him. I sent him an automated conversation starter and who knew that would spark our conversations. After getting to know each other for several months, we were fighting our feelings we were building for each other. We both knew dating someone across the world wouldn't be easy at all. I am a huge facetimer so one night I bravely face timed Kai which led to a 6 hour phone call that could've gone longer if it wasn't for time. After that call, we both decided this was something we shouldn't fight anymore and decided to see where things would lead us. I had a passport already so i planned to go see Kai first. In October of 2023, I flew to Australia. It was as if we had known each other for years! It was so easy being together. We knew after meeting, our feelings were 100% real and we would make it work. I had a ton of flight credits so decided to go back in March of 2024. Once again, we fell even more in love being in person. Because of long distance we had over came the communication and trust needed in a relationship, so our time in person has confirmed what we wanted in life and that was for us to plan a future together. Mind you, we have been facetiming 3 times a day, 4+ hours a day, for the past year at this point. Kai planned his trip to Texas for August 2024 and it was beyond amazing. We then decided we were ready to plan our next step in our relationship! Kai on his next trip, set up a surprise proposal in the Stockyards! It was the best surprise with the most beautiful ring! After talking about the pros and cons of who moves where, Kai decided it was best for him to move to the states!
