December 31st, 2019

Skylar and Taylor crossed paths for the first time at a New Years party for the car club that they both were in. Nothing much was said to one another, other than a "hello". Taylor would go on to completely forget this seemingly insignificant interaction. Skylar, however, still remembered what she was wearing and how she spoke many months later.

May 20th, 2019

Skylar was sitting at home watching News 9 about the tornados that started ripping through Oklahoma. For whatever reason, he chose to send a Snapchat to Taylor about the weather. Taylor, who was home at the time, scanned the message and decided to send one back. They spoke about the weather and what they were doing for about an hour. She did not think this would go anywhere any time soon, but liked the conversation so they kept on for a few weeks.

June 20th, 2019

Exactly one month later, Skylar and Taylor attended the same car meet. They both knew they were going, but didn't plan a meet up. Suddenly, Taylor saw him amongst a sea of cars and people. She said hi, and they both spoke in person for the first time since New Years. This time though, it was different. She thought she liked him during their chats, but once they spoke in person, she knew. He was so kind, and a little quiet. Skylar enjoyed seeing her as well, and that was really a turning point for them both.

July 4th, 2019

Skylar and his friends wanted to throw a 4th of July party at his house. He invited a few of his close friends, and also Taylor. He didn't think she would want to make the 45-minute drive to come, but he was hoping for it. Taylor got the invitation while her friends were visiting from Houston. She asked if they wanted to go, and they said yes. So, they piled in the Jeep and drove to see this guy Taylor couldn't get out of her head since that car meet. Once there, Taylor and Skylar were magnetic. They did not leave each other's side the entire night. When it was time to go, they both knew this night was one that would change their lives.

July 26th, 2019

After the 4th, they hung out a few times more. They spoke about their past, their families, their hopes for the future. The conversations would get deeper, and the heart definitely grew fonder. Finally on July 26th, Skylar asked Taylor on an official date. She was so excited. They went to dinner at Eddie's, then a drive-in movie in Guthrie. Today, they cannot tell you what movie they saw. They really didn't even watch it because they spoke the entire time (and their radio didn't work so they couldn't hear it anyways haha). It was probably the best first date Taylor has ever been on.

August 4th, 2019

In the days following their first date, they hung out any chance they got. They spoke every day in between their jobs and school hours. The dating apps had long been deleted, and they focused all their spare time on each other. In the evening of August 4th, Skylar popped the question "will you be my girlfriend?" and the rest is... well, here we are almost 5 years later, but this time we're GETTING MARRIED!! We cannot wait to share this day with our closest friends and family. See you there!
