The Story of Us

Picture of The Story of Us

T/P: If you know us, you know how much we love to tell the story of how we met. It was a hot sunny afternoon in June of 2021, and Taylor walked into Happy Camper to sell Oskar Blues beer. Little did we know that Taylor making the decision to come in that day would change our lives forever. Patrick wasn't romantically available at the time, so we became casual acquaintances and we never gave it a romantic thought outside of that. Fast forward to November, Patrick and Taylor are both single and Taylor finds him working while she is with her family after Thanksgiving. Taylor catches Patrick out of the corner of her eye and say hello to him. He smiled and said hello back.

P: Every time Taylor stopped by Happy Camper I found myself always wanting to say hi to her. When She came in with her extended family and said hi to me first, it made my heart skip a beat, but I kept my cool and during Taylors' family's celebration. I decided to break the ice and get the whole family a round of tequila shots (needless to say it was a wonderful introduction!). I was determined to ask her out before she left, however she was gone before I could catch her, but social media would be my saving grace.

T: After a fun night out and vaguely remembering that the cute guy from Happy Camper messaged me, I woke up and happily messaged the phone number he left. After a couple of days, I still hadn't gotten a response. But to my pleasant surprise, he reached out to me again on social media later in the week and asked if I was free on December 2nd for drinks. I told him I had already messaged him to set a date and turns out he gave me the wrong phone number- way to make a girl work for it! So Thursday rolls around, and I am nervous as ever for this date. I took my time, changed probably 5 times and met Patrick at Williams and Graham. For a better idea of how nervous/excited I was, I walked in shaking like a leaf. I couldn't believe this cool guy was interested because he was so fun and even more handsome.

P: I was nervous all day because I had loosely gotten to know her only through brief interactions, but I knew I'd like her. She showed up 20 minutes late! I was waiting in the lobby going through what we should talk about, how excited I should present myself, and if she was as invested as I was, all while watching the clock tick. When she walked in, all nerves subsided and sheer excitement took over. For anyone who knows me, that means I didn't shut up the whole date.

T: He orders us drink after drink (shocking, I know lol) and we spent the night talking, laughing and enjoying the date. We may not remember coming home, but it must've gone well because we have been inseparable ever since.

T/P: After two weeks into dating, we decided to stay for a night in our favorite mountain town of Nederland. That night was the night Patrick told Taylor he loved her, and she told him she had felt the same. That night led to us getting COVID-19, ah the pandemic, and forced us to spent our first Christmas together... after three weeks of dating. We both decided that those two weeks quarantined would tell us if we wanted to really give the relationship a go, or if it ran its course. We can imagine that you can all see how things turned out. We moved in 2 months later, fell hard for each other and somehow convinced one another to pick up our lives and move to Ireland a year and a half later. Although Ireland didn't work out after spending eight months there, we decided to go back to the States and establish roots to start our family. Some may call us crazy, but we like to think that we spent our whole lives waiting for one another and when we knew, we just knew.

Patrick and I love each other so much and I don't think we can ever fully describe how much we mean to each other. So here we are, and we want you to be apart of our celebration!
